Like the title states. TV is 3 years old and Im getting 6 red blinks, which is backing lighting issue or driver. I just cant find any info on how to remove the panel to access. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There are no screws anywhere on the plastic back. There is an aluminum frame that is on the 2 sides and on the top that has tiny screws in them. I removed them thinking the frame would come off easily, but they didnt and I didnt want to exert too much force and snap or break something.2 PhotosComment

Yep, same as video, a good rule is be careful around the bottom because some tvs don't have the protective metal along the bottom where the driver boards and tabs are. In those you don't want to be jabbing things in there blindly, at least not past where you can see what it's touching.Comment

Ok I got it. Using that video above, when I saw he had the same aluminum frame work, I gave it a shot and I was able to remove the cover fairly easy. Mods if you want to delete this thread, thats fine, unless you want to leave it for reference.Comment

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by NolesFanI know the 6 blinks are a backlighting issue, but when I pulled off the back cover and turn it on, the is a white flash from with the panel then I hear what sounds like a relay trip and the TV goes into the 6 blinking light code. Before I pull all the electronics off and checking the individual strips, there is a on the power board, a harness with 4 wires that run thru the panel, which are what I believe are the LED lines, but Im not a tech so no clue. Wires read OUT 1 + & - and OUT 2 + & - My first inclination was to remove the power board and use my LED tester and go to each + &...

by sam_sam_samThis happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors
I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using
I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed
The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well
I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the... -
