Vizio M420SV Razor LED Smart TV 120hz

Hey all!

I probably know the answer to this but I am going to ask anyway.

I got this in a bundle lot of panels and when you turn the unit on it comes on the LED lights up and the screen is illuminated, I have audio on all inputs.

NOW for the problem, when I unplug the left LVDS cable to the panel the left side goes white and the right side displays a picture.

Now if I plug back in the left LVDS and unplug the right LVDS nothing changes in fact the right side doesn't even go white it stay's blank (all this time audio is present)

So this could be one of 3 things and I am pretty sure its a bad panel, but could it be a bad mainboard or possible bad LVDS cable?

I was able to get enough gap between the panel shield and a plastic barrier that hides the bottom tab bonds that I could see and I ran a toothpick over them and nothing changed.

Have you tried both lvds in but one panel ribbon at a time out?

When both are plugged in the screen is lit up but no picture, I don't remember if I did unplug both and turned it on. I can do that tonight.

Even if its toast it was worth it for the Samsung FP-T5084X/XAA that I got with this and one other Sammy LCD in tow.

Have you tried both lvds in but one panel ribbon at a time out?

Tom, I unplugged both cables and the screen was blank, no white like the one side being disconnected.

My guess is a bad panel.

Closing this up.

This is a dead panel and a victim of Windex, I took the bezel off the screen and the left side TFT buffer board were the tab bonds attached was so corroded by windex/moisture the SMD parts fell off.

Dead panel! DONT SPRAY your panel with cleaner!

After cleaning off the corrosion the panel is now shutting down after a few seconds. Not sure if I want to risk selling the power supply/mainboard ect.
