Samsung UN70tu7000wxza no standby light, do I have bad capacitors?

I picked up a 70" Samsung UN70TU7000WXZA. The original owner said they were watching it when the power surged and knocked it out. I pulled the back off the TV and disconnected the main board from the power board, and the LED backlight came on, which I was told meant the power board was good. When everything is plugged in the standby light will not come on, looking at the main board BN94-17775A with a thermal imaging gun I can see one of the chips labeled 3202 is 251 degrees F just sitting idle. I found a replacement board, BN94-16115X; this board has the same symptoms, except it is a different chip labeled 1MGH 168 AN36 on a different board section and the 3202 chip on this board does not get hot. I'm still learning about components, but measuring in diode mode to some of the capacitors around the chip that are getting hot shows 0.0v if I measure with my red probe on the ground to both sides of about 4 of the surrounding capacitors. Am I correct in saying these capacitors have a short? Thank you for any advice.

You need the correct board not a mismatch x version.

Scroll down each one and you'll find your x board isn't for your tv it's for different set.

The only one that list the WXZA model is https://www.shopjimmy.com/samsung-un...-version-be11/ and it shows that "
      Manufacturer Part Number 1:
      Samsung BN94-00053T|Samsung BN94-16115X|Samsung BN94-17775A|Samsung BN94-17775V
So it is a compatible board from my understanding.

So the TV turns on and just blank image?

I would check the buffer boards for shorted capacitors. I have had tvs like this I couldn't figure out.. although the 260f chip isn't normal so they board obviously is bad.

probably received a bad board, if they can't replace it get a refund and buy another.

The TV will not even turn on, I have no standby light. I found the service manual for the TV and it says "
            If LED is OFF

            Check LED 1.7Vdc (pin 14 ) and VCC for 5Vdc (pin 4 )

            9

If missing suspect Function Assy/Cable/Main board"
If I measure from pin 4 to the TV frame, I get 5V, but from pin 14 to the frame, I have nothing. I just wanted to ensure the way I was checking the surrounding capacitors was correct. I've requested a replacement and am waiting to hear back from TV Parts Today.

Just wanted to do a final update, the boards were bad. Maybe I will attempt to repair them, if so I will post updates.

Yes, ended up needing a replacement main board. Used a BN94-00053T, TV Parts Today obviously had sent a cracked power board and bad main board.

I've got an issue with the main board for another TV for which they sent me a replacement main board as well, none of the HDMI ports recognize what is plugged into them, name wise. They show up as "Unknown", I can name them but as soon as I unplug them they revert.

Yes, that shop has a bit of a reputation for sending out unverified boards.

I got the tv in spring 2024. At that time it started, then ran 60 sec and poweroff. Seemed like reboot issue. I didn't have time and room to check it in summer so I plugged it in and now the standby light is on. I press button on remote, standby light goes off and tries to start?. No picture or backlight on LCD. I thought about removing diodes like in this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...sung-qled-q60r...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
                      by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

                      Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

No Standby Light on Samsung UN65MU6300FXZA with Mainboard BN94-12440E
                      by Michael Long
                      I had a Dead Samsung UN65MU6300FXZA with Mainboard BN94-12440E
Dead / No Power / No Standby Light results after power company had three
consecutive power outages on/off/on/off/on/off after which TV was rendered unresponsive.

After exploring the issue found Mainboard was the fault. Then with research on this site determined IC1604 was the suspect. The IC1604 is a surface mounted device (SMD) EEPROM, Winbond Model 25Q40CLSIP. A read on this EEPROM came back with all FF FF FF FF FF in all registers blank and empty of data. I had a spare mainboard with intact IC1604 and utilized...
