Re: Sharp LC-65D64U blinking green LED

OK, I'm back to work on this TV.
Any input, which would be the controller IC? It could be the one pointed out above?

Re: Sharp LC-65D64U blinking green LED

I have took a bunch of pictures with the inverter boards.
On the secondary board at one of the 2903 IC and the components around it had a white powder like material stuck to the solder joints and it seemed like they are joining the two solder joint between each component.
I don't know what could cause that, maybe some liquid?
I have cleaned up that area, but did not help. Resistance, at the IC pins has changed though. It's been in the mega ohm range before the clean up.
The right side of the TV has the master inverter with a bunch of ICs at the bottom of the board. These boards are really crowded with a bunch of components. I don't even know where to start.
On the left side(from the back) I can see the channel logo showing on the screen for like two seconds before the error occurs. I haven't tried with signal yet, but I assume that there it should have sound too.
the master inverter has a problem and not the secondary?
How could I isolate the problem?
I did not take pictures, with the master installed on the TV, only the secondary inverters. I thought that that is the problematic inverter, but now I'm not so sure.
Here are the picture for now.

          Master(right) front and back views.
When I get home, I will let you know about the IC markings.
On the secondary, there are three(they are the three inner ones) 2903 and the two at the extremes are 27201.
They are on the master also, but there are many other ones too, like 2904 and some LX1692xxx, O16xxx, O17xxx ICs.
When I took the screen apart, the light seemed like it starts from the master and travels toward the secondary.

Re: Sharp LC-65D64U blinking green LED

            ICs on the master from right to left are 27201, 2903, BA2901, 2903, LX1692BIDW, 2904, 2903, BELOW LX1692BIDW, TOP 0727HB, BOTTOM 0720HB, 0648HB, 27201.
            Any help would be appreciated.
On the PCBs at the connectors, there are no voltages given, only test points are marked. What should I measure at these connectors? Specially at the big ones.

Any pointers where to start with this TV?
I would appreciate any input, because I don't know what should I do with it.

                Nobody can help?
Should I just buy the inverters and keep replacing them?

Re: Sharp LC-65D64U blinking green LED

At least, if we could find the bad inverter board(or the side which is bad-master or slave), I would buy that, but the way these boards are made, that everything is accessible from the bottom only, I can't even do measurements while it is on.
The boards have to mounted on the TV, there is no way that I can lift the boards, while I'm measuring some voltages.

Re: Sharp LC-65D64U blinking green LED

The inverters are getting the 12V and 59V.
How could I find out which inverters should I buy?
It seems like the secondary light up the strongest, should I buy the primary inverters?
I really need some help here, I'm stuck with this big TV and I can't work on anything else.

Re: Sharp LC-65D64U blinking green LED

There are two backlight controllers on the right side middle board.
I'm guessing one must have some issues, or the related part to it, maybe FETs.
                      The controllers are LX1692BIDW.
How can check them if they work properly?

At least, which side should I replace first.

I'm trying to figure out, what kind of voltage should I measur,e at the output of the dual FET ouput, before the transformers T1 and T2?
Maybe, I can find this way the bad "side".

Re: Sharp LC-65D64U blinking green LED

Can I get a little love from this forum, please?
I have measured at the input of each inverter transformer, on AC with MinMax set to Max.
Left upper(335) and right upper(338) four transformers show around 1.08VAC-1.5VAC.
The bottom ones show on the left side 12.76VAC-12.88VAC(337) and 11.4VAC-10.59VAC(340).
Why the upper ones, have this low voltage compared to the lower ones?
I should be measuring the output of the ICs LX1692B, but I don't have access to them. The FETs are covered with a heat sink also.

Re: Sharp LC-65D64U blinking green LED

I have replaced the master inverter boards and the TV is running, after clearing the error codes.
There is still a problem with it, though.
It looks like the tubes are visible on light colored surfaces.
Almost, like every second tube is lit up and there is a darkness between them.
The TV turns on, no blinking light or anything like that.
If it would be, like I suspect it is, the TV shouldn't turn off and enter in protection mode?
Or it could be, that the plastic layers in the panel are mixed up?
                                  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Have you a spare CCFL about 32" to 40" long lying about? Put it along the HV connectors. See if the whole tube glows or if it alternates, like in the image.

                                        I have many spare tubes.
I should place the end glass area, on the connector?

Just the glass along the black connectors - no electrical connection necessary, it should light up through the field near the connectors/transformers.
