    Samsung 37" t370hw02 - distorted picture.

Was up at the local recycling center yesterday dumping some smashed panels and came across this little number.
In great condition with remote and power cable! Lucky day.

Anyway, it has a distorted picture as below.

Can someone tell me if it need a new logic or t-con.

    Things tried already.

Service menu: various options tried- (info, menu, mute, power on) no real change to picture quality.

Wiggling lvds cable: goes dark then light.

Removing left tcon ribbon - left side back, no change right.
Removing right tcon ribbon - right side black, left side slightly more red.

Would I be correct in thinking the tcon is ok, and it's just a dodgy signal created by the logic board?

Don't have a problem replacing either board but want to make sure I get the right one.

    Thanks

AS15 gamma fault on T-con board I'll guess. Picture of the T-con board please?

OK, do you see the block of test points next to the right hand ribbon marked VGAMA1, VGAMA2, etc.? Check each, noting down the voltage for each VGAMA#.

ok so going by toms spreadsheet it has failed miserably.
im going to just remove the chip and replace it, i take its the small square one covered by the pad..... hope i get it the right way round!

You can use any AS15 to replace any AS15. And I bet it is AS15 as we have not seen this with other gamma ICs.
I used AS15-F to replace AS15-U for example.

You were right about the chip.
Ok so I heat gunned off the old chip but unfortunately it took a pad with it.
Instead of wasting more time I ordered a new tcon from eBay (yeah I know.)

The new tcon arrived and the picture came back!
But now the picture slowly fades away after 30 seconds until the screen is completely black! The back light etc is still on.

I'm guessing I've bought a faulty tcon board again as the previous gamma fault picture didn't fade, what tests can i do on the new tcon to confirm if it's faulty?

                      Thanks

Hey guys, I'm having a similar problem with the same board. It started with the same solarization and upon replacing the tcon I've got the same dark screen but now my old tcon gives just the dark screen as well. The cables seem intact and if i wiggle them, I get momentary vertical lines that then fade to black.
                            Any advice?
                            Thanks, Nick.
PS I wasnt sure if i should post this here or in a new thread, i can repost if I need to.

I have a Samsung UN55TU700DFXZA with a distorted picture and I thought it was a bad panel. I had a similar board with one number off and still tried it to see what the issue could be. The picture came out clear with only missing blue hue I think. I found a replacement board for $30 but wanted to learn if this would be the main IC or possibly something else. I don't have service manual so looking to learn about these cheap sets....

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                                    by TR103
                                    Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                                    - sound and backlight, but no picture
                                    - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                    - it keeps rebooting
                                    - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                    - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds

This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

                                    Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung LCD TV no picture backlight on no 12v at tcon
                                    by shelby5041
                                    hi
i have a samsung lcd tv

it powers on with sound and backlight but no picture

all voltages from PS are good 12v 3.3v and 5v

whats odd is that at the tcon i tested voltage across the fuse on the tcon and i get 0v

i figured main board issue..so i ordered a used main board....when i put replacement main board in i still have same issue

no 12v at the tcon fuse

i disconnect the panel ribbon cables to rule out any panel issues and i still have no 12v at the tcon fuse

                                    the odds of having 2...
