Hmm so I thought ill leave in the room for another day so put it all back together the tv is now working and you can switch it on and off very strange

Maybe you've got an intermittent connection or fault somewhere. The fact that the TV seems to do different things independent of how it's connected or disconnected seems to suggest this.

Yeah defo just turned it off and on back to flashing lights

You got a solid picture? The panel is probably not bad.

If you have a spare T-con try that first.

Otherwise main board seems likely - but a few checks can be done first.

ive found a board i can order if i need it Sharp LC-42CT2E main board the only thing different is the red circle ive highlighted in the picture all other connections match up im hoping it will work if i order it
