Hmm, looks like the short may have damaged the main board. What is the 17MBxx part #?

Hmm have you tried checking if the 12V from the PSU is steady? Maybe you have a low power supply voltage which is being loaded by the panel (but not a fault, it's normal.)

Your PSU is working; I did not see that initially.

Tis an odd one, if you have 12V both ends of fuse, I am thinking something is up, somehow, with the panel. Could be a bad T-con, but it seems unlikely right now.

If you are willing to dive in, you might find a shorted ceramic capacitor along the panel boards.

Still trying to figure out why it does not work with one ribbon out - have you tried with either one removed?

I've tried removing one ribbon at a time still not working The strange bit is that I've put both ribbons back in and it's still flashing blue and orange standby it seems I have to wait a while for it to work again
I'll see if I can get the screen out and check the panel boards

                                tesco shit,
if you have only 12v going into the main board,
and it generates the 5v & 3.3v onboard,
find some place to meter the 5v & 3.3v

then check what voltage you get in standby, and when on - with and without the lcd panel connected.

i'v got one here that a 23inch version,
there is a common problem with the 5v switching regulator breaking down under load as it warms up on the smaller ones with a msd306 board.

Agreed it is Tesco shit but it does come in two flavours "China made" and "Vestel".
Both are pretty bad, but at least the Vestel stuff you can get schematics for, more or less.
This is a Vestel set. MSD306 is Top Victory Electronics junk..

The 12V, 5V & 3.3V are all generated by the PSU.

Just stick your meter across them, any on low ohms are suspect (<200), so note them down.

When u plug in the cord the red led of one two second is on, then turn off. If you push the power button or the remote the red led blinks but nothing happen. I give u some photo with voltage, don’t look the fuse….because I blow it for mistake nd I dint have the right replace so I just put it for test the tv. The standby voltage should be 11,88 volt on the diode, but I have 13 volts. I put in the photo the different volts I test and there are someone negative…I don’t know if it s normal. On...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Hisense 50r6- no standby, no power, bad main board?
                                            by LemoneyF
                                            Hi all

I have a Hisense 50r6 that quit suddenly, immediately after turning it on. It no longer shows red a standby light and will not turn on. Completely dead.

I have tested the power supply and found the following:

363V and 373V across the input caps

                                            bri- 0V
                                            ana- 0V
                                            vamp-17.03V
                                            vamp-17.03V
                                            stb- 0V
                                            12V- 9.3V
                                            12V- 9.3V

To the extent of my knowledge (...not far!) these numbers are normal for a Hisense power supply in a standby state, though I would like some confirmation that 9v...

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died

This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....
