Some possible test points: check across each dotted device, DC20V.

thanks tom will check them now, the seller has come back and assured me it was tested. He will even send me his from his working tv if im sure its not working.

Do you think my fault ie 10 blinks after power, was in fact main and another part >? Anything other than an dodgy main cause no picture ?

There's a very small chance the D board could cause this fault, tw2005 might be able to chime in on how to get full white pattern on this, if it's at all possible? Very few sellers do test the boards but it is possible you have found one who does...!

Can't sleep! Anyway, disconnect, A5(LVDS cable), A6,A7, power on and full white on my PZ800, or A5, P6,P7. Had to push the power button to turn it on, there will be no front LED indication, not on mine at least.

If the LVDS is left in, goes to a gray, primed screen.

i was trying to do a bit of a search for the A board. TXN/A1SJTB comes up for 42,46,50" sizes which is unusual. Normally those numbers would be unique for each size.

I noticed in your photo "CB" in front of that suggesting Rev CB which I'm getting the feeling it's a 50" version. TNPH0724CB

There is a SUFFIX legend on the board and position of the jumpers decodes what it is.

Was the board sold as specifically for a 42 or TXN/A1SJTB?

Have not worked out what rev for the other sizes yet but on your original A, on that white sticker with TXN/A1SJTB, are there 2 letters at the beginning and are they the same as the replacement?

Not much luck, but found this http://www.wisiny.com/tnph0724cb-pan...a1sjtb-a-board

I don't know really, maybe the D board configures it for the size of the panel?

            Board Number(s):

            TNPH0724CB

            Known Models:

            panasonic TH-50PZ81B
            panasonic TH-46PZ81B

I know that the A board knows it's in a 46" for example (SELF-CHECK shows "2008PDP 46FHD"), but I don't think that it is otherwise any different. Might change help options/model numbers or something more obscure like Eco mode or sound levels, who knows.

I don't have enough experience with these older ones with the D boards etc but on the newer all-in-one A boards they're definitely configured for one size.

Yep the D board is, because it has different drive algorithm for different panel sizes.

hi all sorry for delay work duties got in the way again lol

Ok im going to try and cover all you asked me to check but sorry if iv missed anything

                    Tom - those measurements

The first 4 are all 15.6 volts, the other two back points are 1.8 for the top and 1.3 for the bottom

TW2005 - the revisions match they both are CB

There are some differences tho the sticker with the alphabet and certain letters are crossed out ( i would have thought this was date or manufactures line details )

and there are 2 other stickers that have differences - please see the pics

I have been told by the seller that it is indeed out of a 50 but will fit 42 and 46

I think this is the reason and it is size specific as that would make a lot more sense

If you guys could have a look and tell me what you think please ?

First 2 are original board 42 and the second two are from the 50

Those boards would be the same then going by the sticker. i'd take up the guuy's offer of another board but I'm wondering if there's a missing voltage 0n A6/A7?

1.8 & 1.3V is fine, core voltages are there then, odd...

Yeah, I did not have time to go through and read the results but i was thinking along these lines.

with A6 & A7 removed you have dull grey screen which sounds like his current condition, then remove A5 and full white. So i was wondering if there was something on A6 / A7 missing or a problem on the A board along those paths since the rest of the TV reacts normal to the full white test.

So should I try the other board then ? The board is in 3 parts would it be worth trying a combination of the original and new one?

The other boards are for Freesat (OTA free satellite TV) they shouldn't affect the operation of the rest of the set.

If the seller has offered another board, I'd try that.

If you want to try something random, put the original back in and leave A52 disconnected which should go to the GS board and see if still 10 blink.

My panasonic 10 blink experience... someone gave me a broken panasonic 42 inch plasma; kids hit it with a baseball... so i know all the guts inside are good... found another unit with a good screen got it; it had a 10 blink code; which i didnt really care as I had all good boards... swapped them all in and still got 10 blinks...

I now call it the 10 blinks of death... when i went back and looked at the boards they were all rusted and corroded; turns out the unit was used outside... the panel itself is like a gas lite light bulb it has and has x-amount of life to it too... Im going out on a limb here and going to say your panel is shot....

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're talking complete nonsense.

Panel life is well over 50,000 hours. I have had one with 14,000 hours on it. NO burn in. NO maldischarge. Every pixel is working as good as it came out of the factory. Comparing a 5,000 hour set to a 12,500 hour set (both 46"), I can just see brightness on the older one is very slightly lower, maybe by a few percent.

So good, I kept two PZ80s for myself!

10 blinks: SUB voltage failure - A board, SC board or P board. Can't be caused by the panel.

The actual panels on these sets are highly reliable: the P board is the common failing point, but it's at least easily fixed.

                                          Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ81 - 10 Blink / Flash

Thats interesting so how is it that plasma panels fail often due to ribbon separation INSIDE the panel and the panel is NOT repairable at all..?
                                          I will wait..?
Sure panasonic might be a better built product -not at all interchangable with any other products either- but its still a plasma tv that uses electricty and creates heat and guess what has the same failures as all the others on the market...
panasonic has their buffer defects and z sys blow outs and PSU failures too; so now what makes the panel exempt..?

I know a beach bar the guy who used to manage it swore by plasma TVs however since it was outside on the beach once the unit goes off it never turns on again thats it life is over; so these unit would stay on 24/7 2 years max and then they are junk... nothing is usable inside at all NOT EVEN THE PANEL!!!

Also the panel ribbons on these panasonics are wax paper strong and rip very easy; good luck with that 10 blink fix though...

again I but a known full good set of tc-42px14 -i think I got like 3 pani guts units from broken screens- gut which as I said before went into an exact same unit with the 10 blinks code all boards are good same issue same 10 blinks; its a bad panel...
you cant tell its not... all the boards are good the only variable is the panel itself...

I am not trying to rain on the fix parade i am just saying my expierince with the panasonic 10 blinks led to a bad panel result for ME...

I am simply posting my situation as to let others know that sure you can swap in a whole new set of boards from a good known working unit to another and still get 10 blinks... YOUR WELCOME!
