    Goodmans Ld3755hD Stuck in standby

PSU doesn't seem to have a model number on but from googling I think it is this

    17pw15-8

I've seen repair kits for this but have then seen a few posts stating it's a eeprom fault.

I've also looked through the repair kit references i've found them all on the board apart from IC829

cheaper to go for the repair kit?

i'm guessing ic829 isn't present on this board as i've looked and looked

sourced all parts from cpc apart from the voltage regulator

    anyone help, it's 78l06 wfg 2j

    nvm misread it's 78l05

rather than orderin parts on a whim, try to determine exactly whats wrong, are there any swollen capacitors?

        Replace blue capacitor C878 (15nF/630V)

For a stuck in standby fault, you need to check the power ON OFF pin to see if it is turning on. If it is, then you need to find out why power board is not starting. If it is not it is a main board fault. Also check the 5V and 3.3V standby output. This is standard procedure, do it for all power boards.

99% of these are power board faults due to the bad 15nF capacitors in primary. C878 and C877 should both be replaced. However there are many other faults these have and that is not a guaranteed fix.

wasn't exactly a whim, plenty of threads and kits on this problem, as the psu isn't labelled and neither are the connectors at the time I didn't have access to a SCH to check so for me to order the parts for less than £3 from cpc isn't a big loss if it doesn't work

but as above seems tom and another thinks it is as stated

I have a feeling the -9 and -8 will work but they need a different cabling loom as the connectors are different.
