Samsung LE46M51B bad inverter board

Hi there,

I have a LE46M51B with bad inverter board 120V46W2B rev 13. I have done some checking with my DMM, and have found a few shorted components. My problem is, I do not know what the part numbers are for some of them.

I downloaded schematics for the TV, but the parts list doesn't seem to list the parts for the inverter. I then tried to find schematics for the inverter, with no luck.

I hope someone can help me.

what do you mean you cant find part numbers? take photo's of the boards (very clear) so everyone can have a look and see what we can do to help!

Fuses checked OK? bl_on and 24VDC present?

I will take some pictures tonight when I get home, I should have done that the first time. I have removed some of the components, but I've left the ones I need identified.

Dudm, yes that's the board. One fuse blown, a rectifier, a few diodes, and a resistor, if I remember right. It is actually one of the diodes that doesn't seem to have anything written on it. I will take a pic, and try to point out the components that seem to have shorted.

Ok, here is a close up of the part I'm working on. As you can see, I've removed the rectifier at Q7, and the fuse at F1 as these are blown. There are other diodes blown too, the one at D619 is shorted. I have replacements for these, but the one I don't know the value of, is the little diode at D500.

That is the Gate discharge Diode which is connected in parallel with gate drive resistor. The damage like that can mean the PWM IC outputs may be damaged as well, you can use IN914 in its place.

The resister is also blown. I did a quick search for the IN194, which you suggested. Can't seem to find any in the UK. Farnell UK have them, but there minimum order is 10, plus shipping.

Ok, I've ordered the rest of the components now. Thanks for all your help, I'll post back once I've soldered everything in, and test etc.
