Hello all! This time I have a Emerson LC320EM2 that is dead with no light or any sign of power. I read through a couple other threads here on this model and it seems my tv is a little different. The fuse is good and I visually checked over the caps or anything that might have gotten hot. I also tested the diodes on the hot side and came out good. I did see that they make a power board repair kit for $25 and was wondering if I should just get that but according to another thread on this TV it did not help out the other guy. Does anybody have an opinion on this??

Re: Emerson LC320EM2 Dead
Well I just removed the board to have a look at the underside and it looks like someone was in there I'm guessing to put that kit in and had way too hot an iron and just destroyed the traces on the board so looks like I need another board now. -
Re: Emerson LC320EM2 Dead
I hate to revive an old thread but since this post I have done about 8 of these TV's and just get a kit and it has always fixed the tv until now. After installing the kit still no power but now high pitch squeal. Just wondering if anybody has a quick answer without going into major diagnostics?Comment

Re: Emerson LC320EM2 Dead
Question is what components did you replace?
Did you force the PSU on without the main board?
Here is what I did to mine: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...hlight=emersonLast edited by CapLeaker; 07-11-2016, 05:25 PM.Comment

by BetonHi guys!
I searched for the term "dead short" in the forum but no specific thread came up however if I'm just blind and couldn't see the thread talking about this please forward me to that direction.
So my problem is I don't know how to find the source of a dead shorted voltage rail. Dead short = ~0 ohm resistance.
I have two VGAs (HD 4850 and HD 4870), both dead shorted to ground on the memory rail. I have the boardview file for the 4870 and the memory rail consists around ~7892346 capacitors...
I have a bench PSU and if I try to inject voltage the voltage... -
by jacobtcHi!
It seems like all the laptops I get are dead G14's. I already had two, in which one was fixable, and one wasn't. This one is different though, I promise!
The previous owner used it without a screen, as the panel was dead, and suddenly it just died.
The board looks fine, no visually burnt components as I can see.
I do not get a short on the DC-In mosfets, however as I had with one of my other machines, the first mosfet does not seem to let voltage through, so the second mosfet does not receive 20V. (See pic).
Only the BQ chip... -
by GhostalkerHello I have an ASUS Zephyrus Laptop (Model GA401QM), bought on ebay and the previous owner claims he was using and the laptop stopped, He then tried to change battery and broke the connector on the battery and also on ripped a GND pad on the MB.
I was searching on internet and found two posts on this forum about a similar problem “ASUS ROG G14 (GA401) battery spark, dead.” and “Dead ASUS ROG G14 (GA401)” both by the user jacobtc.
I already made some measurements based on the “Dead ASUS ROG G14 (GA401)” post using GA401QM schematic provided here and Boardview provided... -
by corrizeHello, I have a Zenbook UX433. (No schematic nor boardview bur I have another same model, in working state tp compare).
It is dead : no light, nothing. And when I press power button : nothing. 19v is OK. I checked charging IC (battery removed) and the chip match ok but 3 flags are differents :
ACDET (pin6) UX433 good : 2.66v, UX433 dead : 3.1v
PROCHOT (pin10) – UX433 good : 5v, UX433 dead : 0v
TB_STAT (pin16) – UX433 good : 3.2v, UX433 dead : 0v
Do you know if it's bad or not pls ? (See below, the details of these flags)

by Donny2derbyPicked this up other week and when I originally looked at in the sellers house I got 3/4's of a working screen and some horizontal lines across the 1/4 of it which was dead/black.
Just tried powering it up at home and now all I'm getting is a clicking and some very faint lines on 1/4 of the screen whilst the entirety of it is dead.
When using the remote I get two red clicks on the standby. Not sure if this means anything or helps. The same when I use the manual power up.
Help appreciated. I'm an electrician, I've fixed a few in the past so not a total... - Loading...
