So my story begins with purchasing a Samsung 50" Plasma Television in 2007. In 2013 my television started power cycling. I contacted Samsung and although television was out of warranty they agreed to change out power board since my television was listed as one in which they had put in the faulty bad caps. The year and model where also listed under the lawsuit against Samsung. In September 2013 Samsung arranged repairs through a local repair company and the power board was replaced. Television was working find until February 2014. Now the television begins to power cycle again after 15 minutes of normal viewing. I contacted Samsung and this repair is on me. My questions:
1. If I replace power board again I feel like I will most likely get a power board manufactured for Samsung which will have these faulty caps. Am I correct in this thought?
2. Since my first power board lasted 5 years, why did the replacement power board last only 6 months?
3. Can I remove the power board and take it to a repair facility and have them test out the caps? also replace the caps?
4. Which caps would be best or am I just doomed and better off to buy a new television?
5. Any reference to a good repair facility in my area? Sacramento, CA
Thank you
