Re: Samsung HP-T5054X/XAA
I noticed also that i am missing a metal seat for one of the mount screws. Could this be part of the issue?

Re: Samsung HP-T5054X/XAA
I have been trying to post pics but no success. I do not see any broken soldering joints. Which leads me back to the capacitors
Vincent great video and it helped but all posts seems to be firmly seated.
Is it possible to take the power board into a shop to have it checked or do i most likely need to take the whole television?

Re: Samsung HP-T5054X/XAA
TW205 definitely feel putting too much money into this thing is not worth it. At this point I feel any repair over $100 is too much...lol
Anyways great pic and I will pull the board out tomorrow and take some pics to test those eyes you mentioned.
Thank you again for you responses

Re: Samsung HP-T5054X/XAA
TW205 if it blow the Main or Ybuffer boards would I still have a picture? The television just turns off then with a minute or two turns back on. Then about a minute or two later it turns off and it continues on the cycle but I always have a picture when it turns back on.

Re: Samsung HP-T5054X/XAA
Tom it just started happening. No warning and no difficulties turning it on and off.
I pulled the back of the television and could not find a single cap bulging, burnt or look out of whack. I plug the television on to see if I could see a spark or a cloud of smoke and I saw nothing.
If I allow the television to sit and not be turned on I can watch normally for about 20 minutes before it starts cycling. It does not matter if left plugged in while sitting or not.
TW205 thank you and I figured as much with the replacement...

Samsung HP-T5054X/XAA
So my story begins with purchasing a Samsung 50" Plasma Television in 2007. In 2013 my television started power cycling. I contacted Samsung and although television was out of warranty they agreed to change out power board since my television was listed as one in which they had put in the faulty bad caps. The year and model where also listed under the lawsuit against Samsung. In September 2013 Samsung arranged repairs through a local repair company and the power board was replaced. Television was working find until February 2014. Now the television begins to power cycle again after 15 minutes...

Re: New Members - please post your introductions here
I am new and in need of some advice. My first computer was a Commodore 64 and i have been tinkering ever since. I have repaired a few electronic gadgets through the school of try-fail then try again method.
I live in Sacramento but no place ever is home. Germanic heritage keeps me as a vagabond.
Hello to all and here to listen and learn. Also hopefully diminish the number of times I get shocked and the numerous trips to the electronic store.
