    Westinghouse VR-3215 loud hum

    I'm getting a loud hum with my audio on my Westinghouse VR-3215 (checked 3 inputs, all hum). I looked at the power supply board but didn't see any crowned or leaking caps. Any suggestions on where to look......

    Just found this on fixya-
    "I just fixed a neighbor's by replacing the 2200MFD capacitor on the power supply board. Thanks for the help, worked great. If you replace it got for a 16V instead of the 10V and hopefully it won't fail that way again."

      Hum can be from two sources. Either the audio/speaker circuits or the baklight transformers if set is LCD TV.
      If there is a load on transformers due to a bad tube or a capacitor in circuit making it too low a frequency oscilate.
      If its audio it can be the main board or the audio source. Try a different audio. is it on all audio inputs?

          It's on all inputs. As soon as it get power the hum starts even with the volume all the way down. It does not go up and down with volume, it stays constant.

              Most likely the power supply or inverter. What ET tools and meters do you have? If limited then i suggest buying a new board. I did not find any info on this set so, I dont know if the inverter is part of the power supply or seperate. Possable that a backlight tube could be loading supply. It thats the case another
              power supply would do the same thing. Make noise.

                      Hello,

                      I've got a really strange issue with the speakers on my Philips 43PUS7506/12. It makes this awful loud buzzing now. It happened after it was attempted to be wall mounted - I think the back got squeezed and something broke.
                      I thought maybe the speakers got damaged, so I replaced them - no dice.
                      • Using the internal speakers, it always happens.
                      • Using the headphone jack, it never happens.
                      • Using the digital/optical out with a soundbar - it happens after about 2h/movie runtime - it's never as drastic, it just pops in and out, but I didn't want it to damage the sound bar

                      Hello, guys!

                      I have this Westinghouse 32" LCD TV that turns on, standby led lights up (blue) but no image. If I knock on the screen there's no backlight present. I took the back cover off and injected voltage on the led connector using a Led TV Backlight Tester, and no light at all, so... it must be that there's some bad Leds, right? Or there is some another testing that should I have to do? Any guiding I'll appreciate it very much. Thanks in advance!

                      Crate guitar amp with extremely loud static on power on (no input)

                      Hi. Not our mainstream line of work - we work with digital mostly. Will study the schematic found on the internet. The output darlington transistors appear to be ok. Even with no input, the output is extremely loud with static / crackle / pop. Any ideas? Will post more details and fix as we continue the review. Have not checked the main power supply rails yet (+-40V and +-16V).

                      Hello Badcaps Members,

                      I'm experiencing an issue with my Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Gen 2, and I'm hoping someone here might have some insight. The laptop charges to full capacity, but as soon as I power it up, I get a loud sound, and there's no POST.

                      I disconnected the battery and connected a USB meter, which shows 20V 0.23A when the sound occurs. I've already tried changing the screen, but it didn't resolve the issue.

                      When I use Lenovo PC Diagnostics App I get results as 01000
