    Vizio SV420m LCD TV - White lines sometimes - Bad caps - Please HELP

    I have a Vizio SV420m LCD tv. Sometimes I get these white lines on the screen. Sometimes it will make the screen go black, but still have sound. And sometimes it works perfect. I've taken the back off and reattached the stand base, and check for loose components with a wood stick, but nothing changes while poking around the back while powered on. From my past experience, this usually means bad caps on power supply board. None look bulged, we all know this don't mean they're good. Most manufactures use cheap parts. Especially capacitors. Any advise, direction, or comments are welcomed and much appreciated. Thanks for your time .

          That looks to be a mainboard problem' but I would always trry reseating LVDS cables first.
          Did I leave the soldering iron on?

              I picked up a Vizio E70-E3 for free that shows Vizio logo and then goes to a black screen. Original owner said he started having wifi issues and then he tried to reset the TV and that's when it wouldn't boot up any longer after his reset attempt. I picked up a replacement main board from eBay that matches the same model # board as the original from the TV.

              Original main board - Shows Vizio logo when TV powers on, then goes to black screen. Doesn't boot up. No screen issues with any lines on start up Vizio logo.

              Replacement main board - Boots up fine, but starting...

              SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H - White horizontal lines / red LED flashes four times

              This "free from a friend who was going to recycle it" SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H arrived with the bottom center RED LED repeating a four flash pattern. It was treated with kid gloves and was reported to have "just gone dead" and the OLED panel has no dents in the metal frame or cracks.

              Thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1091829 helped in proceeding as follows:
              1) Unplugged, then plugged set in while holding the remote VOL- and Power to factory reset.

              2) Waited 30 seconds, then pressed remote Power button and "Select language"...

              75r648 TCL 8K Mini LED White Horizontal Lines

              TV turns on, lights work sound works.

              TV shows white/gray horizontal lines across the whole screen as shown in picture. TCON is getting 12v at fuses, VCC 12v.

              First experience with 8k and mini LED. Does this picture tell you anything?

              Apparently a "certified TCL tech" looked at this TV before I got it free and said it's a Tcon issue but said he couldn't be sure and wrote it off as a loss and they replaced for him.

              Any tip or trick on where to start would be appreciated.

              Going to research the lines. Also going to disconnect...

              Wondering if anyone has addressed an issue with the SHARP 70” LC-70UD27U having thin black and white lines running from left to right horizontally on the screen. I snagged this TV set from a neighbor since I have been successful in repairing numerous other TVs. I assume this probably happens to other TV sets and may have been addressed in another thread. If so please point me in the right direction.
