I picked up this TV from the recycle center . LG 55LV5500-UA. When powered on, the power indicator goes from red to white. It has no backlights and no sound. I tried doing the flashlight test and didn't see anything. I took some voltage readings with power on. Mere set to DC volts, negative lead on Metal tv chassis. See pic:

Re: Samsung UN60FH6200F TV - No backlight - Please help
Got the new LED strips, and installed them, reassembled everything. Success. I now have backlights! Picture looks good. I've noticed the power supply board is making a slight buzzing sound. Is this normal for this model? It's not a loud buzzing sound, but I noticed it when I powered it on....

Re: Samsung UN60FH6200F TV - No backlight - Please help
Well, I’ve made it down to the LED strips without breaking anything. Guess it’s time to order the new ones!
Update: new LED strips have been ordered!
Question: Is there a way to test each individual strip?...Last edited by TubeJunkie; 12-28-2018, 12:15 PM.

Re: Samsung UN60FH6200F TV - No backlight - Please help
Hi budm. Thanks for your reply. My original voltage readings were with negative meter probe to metal chassis ground.
I lifted (unsoldered) the cathode (banded) end of diode D9151C. With ohm meter negative probe on the cathode, red probe on anode, I get 1.85 Mohms. 0 reading with meter leads reversed.
Can I test a mosfet with my multi meter? Q9151C ( 3N50NZ) looks to be part of this same circuitLast edited by TubeJunkie; 12-26-2018, 06:46 PM.

Samsung UN60FH6200F TV - No backlight - Please help
Hello, I have a Samsung UN60FH6200F LED TV with no backlight. It has sound. I can do the flashlight test and can see the image. Here are some voltage readings on the connector that powers the panel. Top connector of power board. Looking at pic, from left to right:
Pin 1. 15.0 vdc (it fluctuates a few volts)
Pin 2. 313. Vdc
Pin 3. 313 Vdc
Pin 4. 416 vdc
I’m in USA, AC line voltage is 120v. No bulging caps. No obvious heat damage to boards. Any help will be greatly appreciated. This is for a friends parents. Hate to see this TV wind up in a landfill....Last edited by TubeJunkie; 12-26-2018, 02:01 PM.

Re: Toshiba HT551U Has Red Picture and Vertical Lines - TCon ???
I’ve ran this TV for the past few days for up to 10 hours at a time. It’s worked perfectly. I had removed and inspected all boards. Sanded the light corrosion on all ground tabs. So, it’s possible that one of the connectors were loose os slightly corroded. I’m not sure. All is working well. So far, so good.

Re: Toshiba HT551U Has Red Picture and Vertical Lines - TCon ???
Ok. I done the test you suggested. But the tv is not acting up. Here's pics of the test. The first pic is with the left two tcon ribbon cables disconnected. The second pic is the right two tcon ribbon cables disconnected. But like I said it's behaving normal while I did this test. But the picture with the left two disconnected looks grainy to me. Thanks...

Re: Toshiba HT551U Has Red Picture and Vertical Lines - TCon ???
Hi yohnsee . Thanks for chiming in. I've attached more pics. My T-con board is removable. It has 4 ribbon cables connecting it to the panel. Should I remove two ribbon cables on one side and and power on the tv? My t-con board number is: 54T01-C04 / T546HW01
The picture will sometimes clear up and look normal. See last pic. Which may be capacitors? But the caps are not bulged at all. None . Thanks...

Toshiba HT551U Has Red Picture and Vertical Lines - TCon ???
Hello. I have a Toshiba HT551U LCD TV. It has red color. And perfectly spaced vertical lines. I've pulled all board to look For bulging capacitors. Didn't find any. The caps all look good. Also checked for bad solder joints. Didn't find any. Could my problem be the T-Con board? Or Video board. Inverter boards? Thanks...

Re: Akai LCT37Z4AD Has very dim backlight
The last few times I’ve tried powering on the TV I did not see any back lights. Initially I could barely see the Akai logo on startup.

Re: Akai LCT37Z4AD Has very dim backlight
Yes. The two cables that are unhooked in the 2nd pic. One cable for each inverter board. If you super size the pic you can see several pins (5 per connector) labeled 24v. Since I have no 24vdc going to both inverters, I definitely have a power supply problem. Another problem I've found is someone has previously tried soldering this power board and may have done more harm than good.

Re: Akai LCT37Z4AD Has very dim backlight
Here's the pic of the bottom/solder side of the power supply board. I reassembled it an took some voltage readings on the 24vdc pins that go to the inverter boards. I DO NOT have any DC voltage on any of those pins....

Re: Akai LCT37Z4AD Has very dim backlight
I checked the fuse on the Slave inverter board and it has continuity. Where should I go from here?

Re: Akai LCT37Z4AD Has very dim backlight
I have no DC voltage on either end of the fuse of the master inverter board. But it has continuity when tested with power off and meter set to continuity. The only fuse I see on this board is a square ceramic type labeled 60v 6.3A. I can't test the Slave inverter board fuse voltage due to it being mounted under the power supply. But I could remove power supply and check for continuity. Thanks budm...

Re: Akai LCT37Z4AD Has very dim backlight
Hi budm Here's the voltage checks and a pic of the master inverter board. And Yes, that's the same board on ShopJimmy. Is those voltage readings ok? Or does that tell us the master inverter board is the problem? Thanks again for your help.
TP7: 5.0 vdc
TP8: 3.0 vdc...
