Sony KDL-46S4100 No Video (With backlight and sound)

Hello All,

I am working on a KDL-46S4100 and have hit a wall. When I first started working on this tv, it had power, but no backlight, video or sound. All voltage coming from the power supply was correct, but there was not voltage at the t-con board, so I replaced the "A" board (main board).

After replacing the A board, the tv powered on with backlight and sound, but no video. There is voltage going to the t-con and to the panel, also after running the tv for a while, the t-con is heating up like its processing. So I thought the next logical step was to replace the t-con. Well, I replaced it, but I still have no video.

If anyone has a suggestion on what to look for next I would really appreciate it!

Hi.

The new main board is not compatible with the old board ,different firmware. No upgrades for this model. Go by the serial number of the TV .

I just worked on one of these and it was the panel, the tab bond to the lcd screen was bad.

Did you do a search on ShopJimmy to confirm that you have a compatible board for your Sony based on the serial number as Adrian mentioned? I have the firmware and installation instructions for this TV if you eventually need them: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...highlight=sony

One of the links I mentioned in the linked thread is broken, but I saved the files to my PC.

I have a KDL - 46S4100 with a serial number 17060xx and I can not find a board that is compatable with that high of a serial number. I purchased a new A board but it is not working. It just shows a blank screen. Tried to flash it but it will not take an update.

Original problem was that all of the HDMI's quit working on the old board.

How many tabs are on the t con that go to the panel? If ther is two then in hook one at a time and see if you get a picture on one of them. If you get it one one of them but not the other then it's the panel.

Only one wire coming from tcon board.
Tv works fine with old board just no hdmi.
