i mentioned yours eMMC Data in tact and yours melody first install... if the user don't know like David. keep silent other wise all TV will be in rubbish -
Ill check tonight when home from work. Once it was working, I left it on overnight thru today to see if it would stay on. If it is, I suppose Ill invest in at least a new cord. Weird how that works, wonder how many people just toss tvs thinking its not worth fixing. This one I picked up for 50$Leave a comment:

Glad to hear it, must have been a bad connection, sometimes it just takes cleaning or unpulg and replug a few times to get it working, curious if the voltage at powercord was still less than 120.Leave a comment:

Well not sure how to explain it, but its working. I started checking over the PB to MB harness, because I wasnt getting any reading on the STB or the ON voltage. So I unclipped the harness to make sure I was getting my probe in there to touch metal to get a reading and when I plugged the clip back in, I noticed the lights were changing, so I checked the screen and sure enough the TV started up, and was like it was just purchased, asked me to register and choose language and blah blah blah. Just want to thank the guys who put in effort to respond to me, it is much appreciated.

Seems like theres something wrong with the power cord, it should be very close to 120 both unhooked and hooked to powerboard.Leave a comment:

connect pins 5 - 7 -9 -26 all together
connect one of pins 25-27-28 to T-CON fuse
the melody you have first setup screen... . before you do the standalone test do as i wrote at post #14 Note 2
measurement wall socket should be in AC not DCLeave a comment:

Here are 2 videos. One video is start up from being off. White light comes on bright then dims some but stays constant. Other video is slight movement and then from side.
Having trouble loading sound clip, file types are not aloud, but you can kind of hear it in videoLast edited by NolesFan; 07-08-2024, 07:07 PM.Leave a comment:

Thanks guys for the info, Ill try to look into it tonight if I can but I have an odd question. I noticed yesterday when trying to do some testing, I was getting odd readings. I checked voltage at power cable where it meets PSB, and it read just 94v and this was on 2 different MMs to be sure. I then checked my outlet ( thinking maybe I had a bad common ) and it tested out at 120. Is that reading of 94 normal at the PSB? Im guessing no, because its just a cord and shouldn't have that sort of voltage drop thru the OEM cord.
Also this TV is new to me, so I'm only guessing on the Android start up sound. I hadn't realized there were 2 different sounds. Ill try to get a recording tonight if that will help with further diag.Leave a comment:

Jump Pin 5 to all three Pin 9 7 26
Jump 5 to 9 & jump 7 to 26
Ill try to make the video for you. I also have sound clip I just need to load it. The front LED never changes or flashes. When powered on it always stays solid white.Leave a comment:

Diah Just so I understand you correctly. Jump Pin 5 to Pin 9 7 26 OR Jump 5 to 9 & 7 to 26 ( if your memory is correct ). Then Jump Pin 25 to the fuse on the T-con.

its much likely Main Boards... but because you have dark blue picture, you need to testing the screen as standalone, if every things went correct then replacing MB.. you will not able to repair the boards. as its just ONE Soc ,
to do screen standalone test ..
disconnect the MB from PSU
disconnect the LVDS between T-CON & MB from T-con side
on the socket of the PSU, you need to jumper
Pin 5 STBY_3.3V to PIN 9 Power_ON & pin 7 BL_ON & pin 26 T-CON_ON check the pins No. you have print chart on the boards... it may my memories went weak
take 12V from the pin 25 T-CON VCC and put it on the F fuse on the T-con
put it in wall and check what you will have on the screen..
Note if you are not sure by pins name or No... use 1KR when you do the jumpers to avoid any damage to PSU in case you did wrong at pins order
Note 2 you can do hard reset from plug it out from wall . press joystick and push down then plug in wall leave the push only when the front LED change from white to greenLeave a comment:

It wasn't the familiar little start melody, it was the ocean like sounding of the andriod i believe.Leave a comment:

Do you know which sound is the determiner, with one of mine that I didn't think was worth the mainboard investment, I had the sony android startup music and was thinking emmc was dead, do you think that was correct?Leave a comment:

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by reformattJust had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".
It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...07-31-2025, 08:37 PM -
by ChrissygizmoHello again everyone,
This is my latest mission, to try getting this Sony tv back to normal working order…
I've only just got it today, when you power it up everything is as should be, in fact it works perfectly for a few minutes then the screen starts getting horizontal lines on & eventually the full screen goes back, I will upload photos of the problem & also some photos of the board etc. You might notice that I'm busy trying the tape method, I'm not sure exactly where the clock lines are so I'm just guessing & hoping for the best lol . I've already tried... -
by zukdjA new main board and power supply was installed on my TV last night, purchased the parts at ShopJimmy. I had no power before installing both parts. Now the TV powers on and I hear music as it cycles through a white-red-green-blue screen. I was thinking it may be a firmware mismatch with the parts however I am skeptical as to plugging in a USB stick with the newest firmware on it since I cannot do any user interaction since all I see is colors on the screen, will the firmware start and complete on its own once the USB is inserted or does it require user input? Someone told me it is in Purity Check...

by Adam RussWeird issue with this tv. Was streaming to the from a computer when it stopped working and the screen went black. Ever since then there has been. o image. Just a black screen. The audio works and yhe backlights do come on when it's powered on, it's just a black image. It presented like a backlight issue. So I finally got around to getting new backlights and a backlight tester. All of them test the same as the good backlights with the same voltages. There are no blinking lights. Just the white led at startup and when buttons on the remote are pressed signaling it's receiving from the remote....
