Panasonic TV has 2 inch vertical line.

I purchased a Panasonic 60" plasma (TCP60GT50) about a month ago. A week ago I heard a "pop" sound coming from the unit when I turned it on. The unit now has a 2.5 inch wide black vertical line on the left side of the display. The area on the left seems to just not display anything. Given the noise I heard, I presume it's a popped capacitor. I have a lot of experience repairing computers, but I don't have any experience repairing TVs and Panasonic has been less than helpful in terms of sending out a tech to look at it.

Any advise in terms of what may be the problem would be much appreciated.

new or used? Unlikely badcap. Worst case scenario the panel ribbon with chip on film IC. non repairable.

If it has wty, I wouldn't touch it. Could be C buffer board but there's very little on them.

Any pictures of the issue although I think I get what you describe. This is a fairly young TV.

Yes it was purchased brand new. I know it has warranty on it but I am still curious to find out what the problem maybe.

some manuals to read. there is a mirror function in service mode to flip the image but a popping noise , I would not expect A-board.

Not sure if they can tell if you've entered service mode , definitely Panasonics problem to solve.

My 2 guesses are c board or PDP fault. Nice looking set.

Hope they sort it out for you soon.

Vizio E701i-A3 fixed but now has red vertical line
              by otaku_nut
Hi all, I tried searching the site for answers but I'm a bit over my head understanding some of what might apply and what doesn't, so please be patient with me. I used Freakaftr8's fix to remove the left driver board to restore picture to a black screen with sound Vizio E701i-A3. After doing so, I now have a large red vertical stripe down the center of the screen. The fix did require getting another t-con board from online, I ordered it before I knew about the mosfit fix for the old t-con board. I have tried cleaning the cable connections to the t-con board. I swapped the cables going from...

              Kogan - KALED65XU9220STB - Blue Vertical Line
              by TrueSword88
              Hi all.

I have a Kogan 65' LCD Panel with a thin blue vertical line (top to bottom) on left hand side of panel.
The line just happens to coincide with the end of COF and start of the next COF (attached).

The line is permanent no matter what I've tried. I've tried pressure testing the panel (top to bottom) and all over, I didn't notice any difference with the line, either temporary or semi-permanent.

Also tried unplugging all flex cables, cleaned with isopropyl then re-inserting to no avail - line remains.

              Hoping to fix...

To fix laptop screen vertical line by working on its EDP cable
              by almarhum
Has one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?

As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...

Samsung UE58TU7100K - no picture, vertical line
              by mrsith
              Hi.

Got UE58TU7100K with no picture - backlight comes on though. Figured out that's a perfect candidate for cut tape method.

This model has just one LVDS tape coming off main board - and two panel boards underneath the LCD screen are connected to each other via small tape. Like curved screens. I've tried to disconnect half of the screen (5he side without LVDS connector on it, obviously), no joy.

Disconnected the tape (main board side). Applied a small piece of tape, covering first ~4-5 pins. Powered the TV on - got picture. In negative, but that's...
