Silly moment here my mind went blank how to read the fuse black to earth and red either side of the fuse if it is im getting 0v both endsComment

Tom I for one am just confused by the fact that there is voltages on the input pins and by the fact the supply cycles with or without anything connected to it. I've heard replacing the main cures this but I can't fathom how or why.Comment

The fuse by the plug ? It's a/c so one probe other side of fuse other probe to other input wire I guess. If you're getting voltage on the main filter cap you're getting a/c through the fuse.

Ok so I just learned my PS is active high not low like I thought. It stops cycling when PSON is held low and only voltage present is 5VSB. Apparently it's not tolerant of a floating input and I wonder if 5v is too high for it ?Comment

I pulled the PSON pin from the socket and grounded it and plugged everything back in. The power supply is nice and quiet but the power light still flashes albeit a little bit different. Hot and cold make no difference to it must be component failure somewhere on it.Comment

Sorry forgot to update swapped psu with mates and my board powered his tv so tried my main and his tv fired straight up so scratched my head s bit went home and stripped full panel to find 4 blown led, s jumpered the pads after removal tv fired up and worked perfect could not tell 4 of the leds wont there replaced them anyways and tv was a good un
All in all was the led light strip
these are in pairs and disconnecting one good strip from the other wont work as they must fire in orderComment

I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.
I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

Recently I've gotten into EC flashing due to my broken laptop(s) and started frantically searching methods for flashing the IT5571E-128 chip on the cheap(due to me beaing a student and not having a job) and noticed that ITE newer chips can be flashed via ISP (In-System Programming) either via SMBus or the KBC (EPP - Enhanced Parallel Port) interface. While these can be achieved with programmers like SVOD4/3 or the RT809H/F those options are WAYYY out of my budget so I was horrified. Problem
This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached.... -
Hi i have an LED garage light. It has two bulbs/strips of led lights in it. One of the bulbs is flashing. I dissassembled the light to get to the LED driver board.
i am enclosing pictures.
given that one works and the other does not (ie...flashing) i thought i should be able to fix this.....or at least determine what is wrong.
the led driver board basically had "two" drivers on the same board. I began probing using my multimeter trying to find differences between the two. Now there may be diff i did not find but one difference i did find was...
