just picked up this TV for a song thought it had bad caps but as it turns out somebody had already replaced 3 known bad caps on this board and still not working I have 5V stand by and when I turn it on the blue light goes out but no 24 volts to the inverters and no 5 volt power I have checked diodes and Mosfets what's interesting is c54 small SMD cap was shorted so it was causing 5v output and ground to be short it together but I fixed that still nothing. This uses aep016-37 power supply. I also tried jumpering pson w 5vstby. same thing.any ideas where to go next with this I notice a lot of people have problems with this power supply

Yes it does. figured it was a cap issue but for some reason they all look good but I guess looks can be deceiving huhDid I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Olevia 337-b11 no dc
W ell I went ahead and recap the output supply and I'm still getting the same thing. I do however notice that I get 3.3v and 5V output to the mainboard which explains why the power indicator works in the power button works. I'm getting about 165 V of the main capacitor and days there even after powering up. Basically no 24 volt or 12 volt or 5 volt. I even tried jumping the opto isolator and still no voltage. I tried Crossing PS on with 5 volt supply and still no output. does this kind of sounds like a voltage regulator problem? There is a 5pin voltage regulator on the power supply that I know fails on certain Samsung power supplies and I'm wondering if this could be the same issue of course I do not know how to test these certain types of regulatorsDid I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Olevia 337-b11 no dc
You will have to get the PFC Voltage booster circuit to work first since the 12v/24v power supply requires 370~400VDC to run that section. So if you force on the PS_ON pin and still do not get the boosted voltage, then PFC IC controller and MOSFET, ETC in that section need to be checked.

Re: Olevia 337-b11 no dc
Should I be jumping 5v standby to PS_ON? That's whats on the coppel TV blog but when I have my PS benched, the PS_ON to 5v standby doesn't do anything to the 3.3v but connected in the tv it does...
I always thught it was PS_ON to ground..Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Olevia 337-b11 no dc
99% of the power supply board uses active high for PS_ON to turn on the power supply, <1V = OFF, >2V = ON.
To test the power supply board, you must remove the cable between the main board and the power supply board (we do not want the main board to load down the force on signal), then use 1K between the 5VSTBY and the PS_ON pin to force on the power supply.Never stop learning

Re: Olevia 337-b11 no dc
Ok just to clarify I already did the ps_on. To 5vstby. No change. That was benched. No output voltage except 5v standby. But when installed in tv I get the 3.3 v.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Olevia 337-b11 no dc
sounds like mainboard is dragging down the 5VSTBY,check the 5v line pin on the mainboard for low resistance, you want to see many kohms for a non shorted rail, with the mainboard dis-connected...fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

by Francesc V.Hi:
I am trying to repair this modular ATX PSU. It only has the 5V Standby and PSON enabled (3.33V).
PSON is delivered by (ST9S429-PG14) in pin4. This chip is a Voltage controller but it doesn't seem to trigger any PWM signal to pass it to primary through coils and "move" the big mosfets. Also next to it there is a EST7618 that it also seems a voltage controller.
Not sure if in the right direction, but trying to find where PWM signal is generated.
Green section seems that could be the "PWM section". It's driven by a... -

by Michale32086Got in a monster.. Older Olevia 65" LED and the thing weighs like 500 lbs!!
OK, OK, only 235 lbs but it feels like 500...
Power it up and, after a few tries, it comes on.. No backlight on the left side of the screen, as you face it..
So I am thinking bad inverters.. It's a set of 3 on either side..
Ordered a replacement set, but they came in damaged.. Specifically, the metal frame that surrounds the doo-hickeys.. (see pics)
Would that affect functionality??
Thanx... -
by m041633nHello Everyone!
I would like to know the Jumper location for the 2 Amber 7 White Led Blink Code error. According to Dell 2,7 Led codes are for display or the Display cable failure. I didn't changed the display nor the cable. The issue happens only when restarting the machine from windows and from the BIOS. And when opening and closing the lid the display turns off and never turns back on. But the machine is working! I confirmed it by pressing the CAPS Lock key. Does anybody has this issue and fixed it by jumpering some fet near the display connector on the motherboard. If So Please Help... - Loading...
