didn't try shorter wire or move them further apart because i didn't wanna mess around with the hv area too much. what exact should i use to test. length of wire and gauge to see if it changes? or should i wait to see what you come up with in regards to the panel specs?

thanks for the post i will give it a try! i did remove the connector to the t-con before hoping the backlight would come on but no picture but it didn't change anything but it's worth a shot. he is right in his post this is the first tv i had with such a tiny t-con.

That one has back lights but dead T-CON.

LOL, so you just heat up an IC briefly and permanently fix an obviously temperature-dependent fault? OK, that's a good one. I bet that TV died a few days later.

Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?

i heated it up and still didn't fix it. but it did get a little brighter while heating it up. maybe something on the t-con is affecting the backlights? i never saw that happen before but i don't know what else it could be. i did some checks and with the tv on and the t-con connected i get 24v and if i disconnect the t-con and check voltage i get 25 volts. but when the t-con isn't connected the backlights don't even attempt to come on at all. but with it connected it flashes briefly then i can see a little of the backlights on the sides. so i am thinking it has to be something with the t-con even though it doesn't make any sense. i tried everything possible and that is the only part that i never did anything to. i ordered a replacement today for $20 should be here by friday. if that fixes it then i know for sure it has to do with the t-con some how.

Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?

A lot of PSUs will have unregulated outputs when not fully loaded. That's normal and a volt on the 24V shouldn't make a difference in whether the backlight works. If it were the t-con unplugging it should have resolved the issue if it has no sync signal going to the inverter (separate cable on t-con usually, and only found in older models.)

Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?

I reckon some problem with bulbs in panel (maybe arcing to frame) or output from inverter too low. Maybe installing the leads pushes the short circuit detection off or drops the voltage slightly, enough to allow the TV to work due to lower voltage = no arcing. Purely a guess.

tom on the psu where the two inverter plugs are could those 2 blue caps cause this problem?

i replaced those 2 caps and it didn't change anything. tom what do you suggest i try? a new inverter? how can i prevent the arching if that is what is happening? i checked over the bulbs again and they don't have any deposits on them or nothing looks out of place where the connector for the lamps attaches to the plate that holds the bulbs.

Hello all, first time posting. I have followed your post from beginning until now; all I can say is awesome troubleshooting. I am very interested in the fix for this one; I have the same model on my work bench. When he said that his probe spark, it reminded me of some of my repairs, one is when I did not use an isolated transformer while using my o-scope to measure voltages on a TV ; another instant is when I had a floating ground issue, it sparked when my probe touch a positive test point.
What will happen if you solder the back light wire directly to the power supply board? Is it advisable to hook up one or two car head light to the circuit, to test the output voltage and the ripple?

Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?

at first i was thinking it had something to do with the ground. i also thought it had to do with the connectors for the backlight and was gonna cut the connector and solder it to the board but i wasn't sure how it would play out. i got the tv for free so to me i could care less about it because i only have about $30 in it but it is more important to me finding out why it is doing what it is doing and what is causing it. i saw a bunch of these tv's and all of them have bad reviews with the same type of problem i am having but nobody ever gives a fix or explanation. so my goal is to find out a fix and with all the intelligent people on this site hopefully we can come to a conclusion. i will try anything on the tv to find the root of the problem but i don't wanna put a bunch of money into a tv that isn't worth it. it is a cheap tv but i wanna know where they engineered it wrong that makes it crap out. i'm just guessing it is an engineering problem somewhere. ses4you i hope you keep an eye on this thread if you have the same tv on your bench that way we can check some results with each other and maybe help in figuring out the problem. thanks for the post

i need some input on whether on not i can use this mosfet in place of another mosfet.

                              currently on board

wanna replace with this one but the continuous drain is 32a not 24.4a like the other 1
                              http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/...TjsrQGdQ%3d%3d

will this affect anything by using this mosfet? i think this might be what is giving me problems with the backlights if it is possible. there are 2 of them right by each other but they give different readings on board i haven't taken them off yet to check.

in this pic they are at the top right and next to each other 1 goes to the 12v and the other goes to the 24v

anyone have this board laying around to tell me the value of 2 surface mount resistors on the hot side? i will show in a picture which ones i need values of but i'm just gonna wait for a response first.

I know this is an old thread, but I have same TV with same issues where the lamps are on only around the edges just like in pictures on page2. No arcing, bad caps, contacts or anything. Anyone has a verdict on it?
