the numbers that came off the tv don't even show anything in google...except the model number and p/n number

the bk and dm pins read 3volts is that correct?

i don't know what else except that the bulbs are bad... any other ideas?

I think the inverter output is too low or there's a short between output and the case.

i checked the bulbs and they look fine. where could i start to narrow that option down?

just for continuity on each end. how do you check them? i think i have a short somewhere just don't know where to start

Best way is looking at them directly.

3110t-0552a that was the number on the metal around the panel but that doesn't come up with anything in google either! none of the numbers off this pos match up with anything

i checked a bunch of diodes and resistors they all are good. how can i go back through to make sure the inverter output is ok? do all megmeets combine different caps? this one has 1 capxon junk cap a couple samxon and a couple aishi.

Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?

here are some pics the one with only a few on the one side partially lit were right when i plugged it in i then tried to heat up the ballast caps with a hair dryer and then turned it off then back on and a few on the other side partially lit up and if i try to take voltage of the lamps then it gets a little brighter or if i touch the chassis and then on the plug for the left or right it will short out the 1 side and make the other side brighter temporarily when moving it around. i am stumped i think it is the inverter or the ballast caps but i have no equipment to test the hv ballast caps or 1 or a few of the bulbs are bad but don't show any visible signs. and none of the bulbs look bad. when first turned on i took a video and slowed it down the bottom 5 from the right to left go all the way across but then only 4 stay partially lit and the top left goes about a quarter of the way across and doesn't stay on. maybe the 5th or 6th bulb from the bottom is bad?

Are the ballast caps mounted on the circuit board where the end of the lamps attached to?
This one remind me of the Element TV with bunch of bad ballast caps (it has leakage resistance, brownish color from heat).

yeah but they don't have any discoloration to them they are 10j 6kv with 1 by each connector i saw they have a "new board" for this model but they have 2 by each connector plus they changed a few other things like adding a cap and changing some other caps in the inverter section

Re: spectre x322bv-hd model x32 led backlights bad?

That will be 10pf 5% Tolerance 6000V rating, one ballast cap per lamp (each cap is connected in series with each lamp).
Since all eight (lamp+cap) are connected in parallel, ALL lamps should light up. Do you see any carbon trace from the boards to the LCD panel metal frame? Or hear any arcing sound?
It either the high voltage is leaking to ground instead of getting to the lamps, or the HV from the inverter transformer is too low.
Did you already check the resistance reading of the ballast caps? Please note that checking with DMM is 100% accurate since it does not put out enough high voltage to simulate the real voltage that the cap is exposed to in the circuit.

here is a pic of my board and the differences. i am guessing that they made these changes due to problems with the old layout thats why i was suspecting those areas plus they are in the inverter area and that is what i am having the problem with.c203 and 204 the inverter caps? they look like they are different in the new version and the blue cap next to those is different also and they added a 2 more ballast caps and a 35v22uf cap in the empty space where i have startup cap.

i only took the psu off and no carbon traces and i don't hear any arching etc. and no i didn't take a resistance reading of the ballast caps how can i check for leakage? in ohms with probes on each leg tv off? i took both those caps out and tested capacitance they are 224j 4oov i believe and i was getting like 330nf capacitance

now that you reassured me it isn't the bulbs i am gonna put the screen back on etc. and then do all the testing. i was kinda thinking it was the transformer inverter but i never really heard them go bad so i wanted to check everything else. actually some of the legs on the transformer looked like the got hot and the solder looked funny so i resoldered them but to no avail

I am talking about the possible carbon traces on the board where the lamps are.
