I don't like it when they work

Just like the title says. Sometimes there's nothing worse than dragging home broken TV from somebody that tells you that it will not work to plug it in and find out that works perfectly. Now you gotta go through the whole spiel off leaving it on in and Removing everything in the back to find out what's going on and when you are told that it won't turn on that could be anything so you have to scrutinize over the mainboard power supply and inverters in pecans and whatever else is inside that TV to try to figure out where the problem lies if there even is one I mean who's to say that there was something wrong with the power strip for the wall outlet they had it plugged into. Anyway that's what I got going on right now just picked up a 55 inch LG 55ld520 and I was told that something is wrOng with it but they don't know what. Oddly enough it came out of a mobile video gaming truck which was kind of neat because I got to see the inside of the same as for TV set up against the wall and he has all the newest video game units I thought it was kinda cool oh well I guess I'm going to monitor this TV and see what's wrong with it if there's anything wrong with it at all.

I guess there is only one worse thing then that would be a powered up and find out as a cracked screen so I should just be quiet lol

Why are you disappointed? I guess if it's intermittent then it would be an issue. If it was broken and you fixed it, you feel confident when you fix it. But heck if I get a broken TV and fix it for myself then something unrelated would break. Anyway I wish you luck wit it.

I hate this too. I had a TV I thought I fixed, it worked perfect 5 months, 2 hours after selling it guy comes back and complains it doesn't work, yeah, same issue as the start. Gave him his money back but it's annoying because now I'm not 100% confident about selling it again.

        Precisely

I might be donating this one to a group home that doesn't have a tv. Just hope it will not fail on them.

yeah, it's a funny one. I've had a few similar scenarios, could not get the Tvs to fault. I'd come in from the garage with a long face and the mrs would ask what's wrong.

I'd say the darn Tv works, no fault. What's wrong with that, she'd say. I've got nothing to fix, now I'll have to find another broken one for something to do!

Can't get my hands on a damn broken TV now in Darwin to work on. So I bought a broken car instead, almost finished that.

LOL, It's so tragic, Tvs are so much cleaner and never graze a knuckle either.

You must have a sad, sad boring life if you hate on people harmlessly enjoying life with an animal costume.

Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

Maybe it's a good idea to unplug it a couple of times and turn it on again after you have plugged it back in.
I'm in a similar issue with a Sony KDL46EX400. If I buy another main board, the TV works fine for long periods of time, but if I turn it off and on a couple of times, it won't turn on at all anymore, just throws the 2x error code. I can't get it out from this state, just with another main board.

Yep. Hate that. I've had the same thing happen when repairing arcade games. Guy gets it home and it doesn't work.

I saw that ad and talked to that guy. Nice guy. When he said the TV were used in a traveling arcade truck, and that he'd used up his warranty service on them, I decided it was over my head. Maybe the problem was just vibration related and it will be fine as a stationary tv?
