Very common problem with main board. The cpu chip will probably need a reflow/reball. There is lots of data on the forum on how to do so. This is most likely your issue. -

It's generally pretty expensive to replace these because they are main thing that goes bad. Probably $150. It'd probably be cheaper just to buy a solder station with a hot air gun, and try to fix it yourself. Again this is likely the issue but not a guarantee without testing say the power board first. If you buy a new main board, remember that this new board will eventually have the same problem as well. Potentially anywayComment

Hi.
picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED... -
Failure Symptom
No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.
Where is the short?
Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Bug looks like hardware so thought I posted it here. Exact same behavior on 2 different model 4K Vizio TVs running their SmartCast smarttv software. After launching youtube app, press vizio button on remote to return to the smarttv menu, once in awhile, a column of bad pixels will show for few seconds on the left hand side.
It seems the vizio software is reinitializing hardware when returning to the smarttv menu. In general, SmartCast software isn't very good. Also will randomly (relatively infrequent) get no network connection when on wifi and require reboot....
