Building a Univeral P.S to Test LCD TV

Many times we have TVs that the Power Supply is bad but the rest of the boards status are unknown.(lighting strike) Generally you repair/replace the Power Supply then you can test the Main Board etc..You tell the customer the P.S. is bad and you tell them a certain Price but after you buy the SMPS you find out that the Main Board is bad. To avoid this a universal PS is needed to test the remaining boards.
Making a Univeral Power with 24 vdc for invertors, 12vdc for audio, 5vdc for standby. A high wattage Computer P.S. can be made to fullfil most needs.
Wire jumpers from the Molex to the Main Board etc can be set as needed when needed. Sure its a Pain but at least mostboards can be tested. A bright
LED flashlight can be used to view image on screen if your unable to fire up the inverters.
What wattages / amperage would you guys recomend for each of the desired voltages? Pointers Anyone? Bad Idea?

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
    by Asraf Atb
    Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Lenovo NM-D562 v2.0 main EC programming help needed
    by questore
    Hello Everyone,

I have this board that has an autostart as soon as i connect the charger (no POST) and restarts after 20 seconds. cannot be turned off.
I'm suspecting main EC firmware problem (IT8227E-192)
Since this board has only EC_KSI6 and EC_KSI7 pin on keyboard connector to the EC this cannot be programmed trought it.

I would like to know if anyone can give me instruction how to program the EC.
In the Vertyanov tutorial instructions I have seen that alternative is using 8pin direct cable soldered to board.
Anyone knows hows if that is working...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?
    by cheeky2
I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

LG 55EG910V - no power and no standby light
    by AleMonti
    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair this old LG OLED curved TV, model 55EG910V.
I did some basic troubleshooting and reviewed most related posts here, but I wasn't able to isolate the issue.

The TV shut itself off during playback and never came back to life - the standby light remains off. My dad claims that it has happened a few times in the past but the issue resolved itself after some time. Not this one.

After checking the basics I did the following:
    • I measured all voltages and as expected the only active supply is the 3.5V standby. It
