    SAMSUNG UA46D5000 T-Con Board

    Hello,

I have a SAMSUNG UA46D5000PMXXD LED TV that have black screen issue. The sound and the backlight works fine. I know the boot up perfectly because the sound can be heard and the TV is listed on SAMSUNG remote control app on my phone.

I called my local TV repair shop, they took a look and determined that the T-Con Board is failed and need to be replaced. After 1 month, they found a matching T-Con board and replaced it. The TV works fine after that repair, though few black lines on the screen (about 1/3 the screen length) appear on the below, but not a big problem for me.

But, after 1 week, the TV went black again. The issue is same before changing T-Con board. I can safely assume that the T-Con board fails again and need to be replaced.

Don't want to pay additional expensive T-Con board again, I decided to find the T-Con board myself on the Internet. I found that the T-Con board that have exactly same like my TV is expensive and need to be shipped from Europe countries.

However, I found some almost same board on the Chinese TaoBao website. The T-Con board only single character different with my panel. The one available of the website is LTJ460HN01-H, but mine is LTJ460HN01-V. Are those board compatible with my TV? Link. I don't mine few small line appear, as long don't fill my screen and bright colour.

I believe the 1 character difference is the region. Like UA for Asia, UN for North America, etc, but not quite sure of it.

One more thing, I want to know, why my replacement T-Con board fails after 1 week of usage. I assume that the T-Con board already fails before replacement, but I am not quite sure of that. If I replace the T-Con board again, I fear that the replacement will fails again.

I uploaded some picture here. I didn't notice anything burned out in the TV.

    My Panel : LTJ460HN01-V
    My (Replaced) T-Con board: LSJ460HN01-S J460HN01-0F S100FAPC2LV0.3
    Model: UA46D5000PMXXD
    Version: HQ01

    Thank You

Are there heat transfer pads in place for the IC's on the tcon board? Some ics overheat if there is no cooling for them.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

theres a white fuse on the tcon board does that test ok you might have to refit into tv power on set and test voltage each side of the fuse.

No, there isn't any pads on the t-con board IC.

I remember the original t-con also didn't have any pads.

I have 4 others identical (only different size) tv that doesn't exhibit the t-con board failure. Maybe this is just unlucky batch of tv.

The one with 125V/3A text above?
How to test it? I have Analog Multi-Meter. I assume the red (+) goes to either one of the metal parts of the fuse and the black (-) goes to where? Or just like a car, the body (metal parts) is the ground?

I only have basic knowledge of electrical hardware (more a software guy). I am truly sorry because asking so basic question.

yes thats the one can you set set your meter on ohms and touch each side of the fuse red on one side black on the other.never really used a analogue meter sorry.

            Thank you for the reply.

I already checked the fuse, it is about 2 ohm. I also check others fuse in the power supply, it is nearing 0 ohm.

Cannot give accurate result because I'm using Analog Multi-Meter, I will buy DMM if I got time to electrical store.

A few thin black lines at bottom -- was TV ever water damaged?

As far as I know, there is no water damage.

The black lines appear after changing the T-Con board.

But, I am also not 100% sure the black line appear after the TV T-Con board fail because the TV is seldomly used.

Have you solved this issue. Have exactly same problem. Found exact same part on taoboe site but not sure if these are oroginals or some chinese clones.
                  Thanks
