I have seen image burn before when the tab bond fails, because it does not do AC biasing of the pixel, the pixels burn slightly, usually it fades over time but can take months to do so. Ultimately I think I wouldn't want to sell a TV with this fault because I could not be sure it would last.

I am not as concerned about the burn-in as I am the picture "tearing" along that area. Any thoughts on that ? I'll try to grab a photo of it.

As for the tv itself, it is my first kill, and so not for sale

        Have a look here...

You can see the artifacts in the clouds just left of top center in second pic - excuse the moire. The third pic turned out sideways somehow.

It probably still has a little bad tab bonding on one of the data or control signals going to the tab.

That's possible though it seemed there never was a bad bonding, just blowing over the tab made the symptoms go away.

I can't say for sure whether the tearing was gone or not by just blowing cool air across the tab as that was a bit ago when it was in complete tear down and I never looked for that symptom in particular.

Samsung UE58TU7100K - no picture, vertical line
                by mrsith
                Hi.

Got UE58TU7100K with no picture - backlight comes on though. Figured out that's a perfect candidate for cut tape method.

This model has just one LVDS tape coming off main board - and two panel boards underneath the LCD screen are connected to each other via small tape. Like curved screens. I've tried to disconnect half of the screen (5he side without LVDS connector on it, obviously), no joy.

Disconnected the tape (main board side). Applied a small piece of tape, covering first ~4-5 pins. Powered the TV on - got picture. In negative, but that's...

Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN - vertical and horizontal stripes across the screen
                by kotel studios
                Hi,

Just now my Samsung LC32HG70QQUXEN monitor gave up on me. On cold boots I get many vertical stripes going across the screen (see the attached picture). After it runs for 1-2 minutes those go away but there are horizontal stripes going across the whole screen no matter of the input and PCs I use. (couldn't take an picture of it since the image size goes to 20MB and the camera doesn't pick them up)

In a video about a 27" monitor with an similar issue the guy removes one resistor and supposedly the entire monitor goes back to life? For sure this fix is only temporary....

Vizio E701i-A3 fixed but now has red vertical line
                by otaku_nut
Hi all, I tried searching the site for answers but I'm a bit over my head understanding some of what might apply and what doesn't, so please be patient with me. I used Freakaftr8's fix to remove the left driver board to restore picture to a black screen with sound Vizio E701i-A3. After doing so, I now have a large red vertical stripe down the center of the screen. The fix did require getting another t-con board from online, I ordered it before I knew about the mosfit fix for the old t-con board. I have tried cleaning the cable connections to the t-con board. I swapped the cables going from...
