Re: Sony Bravia KDL-46EX723 - 4 blink code

Metered the current on each of the 4 outputs. Got 80-84mA on each for about 1 second until it shutdown. That seems to suggest that the strips are okay and equal.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like it. I have a small 22 inch funai built magnavox edgelit led tv that has a flickering led strip. All leds are working but still some odd issue. Turned out.to be a mainboard issue somehow. As it goes if you jumped the appropriate connections you should be able to get that tv to stay on. But the driver ic needs to be tricked.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Replaced the LED driver board and unit is back in operation. Total investment $16 plus time.

Nice cheap fix. Mine it was more, but still happy that the driver board was at fault and not the LEDs.
This was mine, much more complex then yours:

            Wow! That's a bugger

I would have tried the bypass on the chip, but as you can see nothing is marked except the IC's and the components are super small. The board is only 7.5" x 3" (19cm x 8cm) and the transistors I'd have to work with are 1mm x 2mm (left of IC1004).

[Check PANEL_FAIL at pin 7 of CN6002 on the B* Board]
              - Below 0.84v = B* BOARD
              - Between 0.84V to 2.65V [Change G* Board]

-so if CN6002 is between 0.84v to 2.65v should change main bord?

I have the same exact problem. Or at least I did until I bumped a pin with my multimeter. I was just going to replace the LD board and/or the BATV board based of of what I saw online.

I assume we check pin 7 (BL_ERR) to pin 1 (GND) correct? When looking at the BATV board and CN6002 is in the top left corner. What is the pin layout. Is 1 at the top or bottom?

I was getting about 3.61V one way and 0.00V the other way.

I understand what most of the boards are BATV, T-CON, LD, G4B (power) but with is the "B*" and "G*" board? Does this correspond to BATV & G4B?

Seeing as I couldn't make sense of 3.61V I tried to sneak my meter in the pin connector on the power board where the harness from the BATV board meets and I think I bumped into pin 8 and 10 at the same time. I heard a relay click or pop sound followed by a high pitch electrical noise. Now all I get is a hissing noise when the TV is plugged in and no power. I hope I didn't screw anything up

Is it just me or does it seem like just a slight possibility here that these new led TVs gave a very limited window for led wear? I mean with LCD TVs with CCFL backlight they seem to go on and on and on until the one of the backlight ccfl's fail. These TVs seem to have no room for led wear when they start to differ on balance they automatically send a code and won't work anymore.
+1000, I won't buy an led tv, I'll go straight from lcd to oled.
