hi guys. need a bit of help with this Vizio. it turns on and relay clicks on then off. the Vs goes to about 60v then it shuts off. my first guess would be it has some kind of shut down circuit. the fuses on x and y sus boards are good. any other things to look at ? thanks , Pat

Re: Vizio P42HDTV10 not turning on and staying on.
Disconnect ysus power connector. . Left board. Ohm between vs and ground. Sounds like a bad ipm. This is the module under the heat sync on the ysus. If shorted across vs and ground its probably bad. Very common on this model nLast edited by freakaftr8; 10-11-2013, 11:37 AM.Did I leave the soldering iron on? -

I had the exact same model with the exact same problem. It had known good sustain boards and a good power supply. I found that if I pulled the 5V wire from the tuner board, I could get the set to stay on. Long story short, I traced it to the sub-PSU or the main, but didn't want to sink anymore money into it.

by modtoolDear collegues,
the owner of this machine brought it to me saying that suddenly one day the display didn't turn on anymore, he tought that all the machine was damaged but it turned out that the MacOS starts good and stays on, and that connecting it to an external display it works without problems.
If you take a look into general settings, you can also see that the internal retina display is recognized as connected by the main board but for an unknown reason it doesn't turn it on.
I've tried to put a bright light towards the screen but I can't see anything, any shadows or apple... -

by CoinCoin88Hello everyone,
I'm turning to the Badcaps community to help me troubleshoot the radio Rx card from my (old) garage door opener. While I could just ditch that card and replace the whole system, I first would like to understand "why" it suddenly stopped working, because that's just how I am wired...!
Some basics: the receiver works on a 30.875 Mhz frequency. Yes, I'm aware this is not in use anymore in a looot of places. It does not use any rolling code, it's just a regular dip-switch code that you have to set up on both the receiver and transmitter. The receiver... -

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and... - Loading...
