Missing part of circuit board. long shot question

    Hi all,

Have a new project: A Pioneer PDP-R06G Media recieiver that someone else 'had a go at' before passing it onto me.

Trouble I have is a triangular part of the power supply circuit board is missing!!

I cannot find a circuit diagram on the net apart from a high level service manual. I cannot even find a photo of the reverse side of this board on the net.

So...I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have one of these media receivers lying around (or a similar model) and can photo the reverse side of this board?

Or can anyone hazard a guess as to how these circuit paths go?

    The board part numbers are AXY1114 / MPN4908 / PCPS0897

axy1114 (pdpr06xe) is your board number!
    google it and go nuts!

That was the first thing I did and when I came up empty I thought I would ask on here to see if someone else has one of these boards that they can photo the circuit paths of.

Thread is closed, Have been contacted by a local tech who saw an advert of mine and sent me a detailed schematic of this board and I managed to rebuild it using wire and old resistors.

Voltages test within spec but I have a different problem now.
8 blue flashes = mainboard interface problem.... somewhere.... groan... Oh nooooo.

This project might be headed for landfiill!

Perhaps you could provide a schematic for future users with other problems?

I just saw this. I have the R06U paired with the 4360HD panel. Still in use and still loving the picture quaility.

There's a long thread on AVS about these media receivers. I had the flashing Blue/Red light about two years ago - managed to procure a working unit on ebay and sold my old one as broken.

I have the manual as well (somewhere) if you need further assistance.

Hey pnb, in regards to your flashing blue light...

If the R06G is similar to the "U" version there is a Tamper Switch located at the top of one of the sides. If power is applied when the lid is removed (switch open) the unit is put into Tamper Mode. You must go into Service Mode and do a Factory Reset to clear it.

                Hope that helps.

No tamper switch in this model. 8 blue flashes if pretty much the worst possible problem you could have with these as far as I can see.

Hi, found this in google so joined the forum to checkout your images and schematic on other post.

Given to me by a friend to fix after another bright spark bridged the fuse that had blown on the PCB and started it cooking at R31.

Your hires image on underside of PCB has at least told me the value of R31 which the schematic does not so that was a help thanks very much.

                      Hi,

Sorry for refreshing this post after years.

Due to problems in the power grid, media player (pdp-r06fe) got 400v instead of 240v and burned some electronic parts. However, I failed to find more details and don't know what the specification of these components are.

Also, can you give me more suggestions what to replace? As I can see diode Z1 is completely burned. Could be that just a problem? Where can I find what kind of diode is that?

I found schematics in the previous posts, as well as, the service manual on http://service.minjja.lt/files/?id=3184

z1 is not a diode ..more stuff will be blown up for sure .
your power supplier should buy you all new things that got blown up .

My bad Z1 is a varistor, so I removed it for the test and replaced fuse. And it worked, checked the voltages and everything seems fine. So, I am happy that the varistor did its job Tomorrow I will buy new one and put it back for the surge protect.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

This board attaches to 2 12v batteries in tandum (Black/Red squares). There is a 24v power supply that attaches at the 2 pin molex connector (circled in red). I need help to determine which components run the charging circuit in an effort to determine a point of failure. There are multiple via's, making it difficult to trace the circuit. Nothing appears to be shorted but I wasn't able to fully test as I do not have 2 12v batteries available. My assumption is that the micro controller (red question mark) determines when to turn the charging circuit on & off. I'm pretty sure a regulator and...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...
