    Free Panasonic Plasma

My buddy was tired of this tv shutting off after 5mins
    code is 13
    A board?
    Model is Panasonic TC-P50G10
looked online for this board $170 with trade in of the bad board?
Has anyone seen this problem? Or should I be looking somewhere else?
My buddy had a power spike in the house during a thunder storm, lost a lot of stuff along with this tv
So I took it home hoping I could save it?
I have some electronic background mainly in cars. Want to learn hoping I can fix this thing myself.
    Thanks for any help!
    Love the site

13 blinks is "A" board error, you can try unplugging the cord to the sd card reader as some have had it give 13 blink error as well. I found one on ebay for 140, pretty pricey for a single board but it did have an "or Best Offer" you could try to get it for less. Or if your really adventurous you can try a component level repair.

There are many individual components on each board, on that A board there are hundreds. Usually only a few fail, the main problem is locating which ones have failed and getting the replacements installed without fouling up the rest of the circuit. You might get lucky and have one of the regulators or other large components fail but if this is your first go round with this type of thing you would be better off with a board swap.

The problem is going to be heat related - if you start heating up parts you can likely find the cause quickly - freeze spray may get them going again.

Update: Got to talking to my buddy more about this problem, He tells me that this problem happened 2 years ago and he replaced the A-board and it fixed it. Then he hands me the original A-board that came with the tv. So since it fixed the first time I will probably do it. I looked at the board it looks ok but im sure things need to be tested?

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

              Assuming...

              Hi everyone!
I happened several times, in the search for help from the web, to consult this very interesting forum.
So I decided to sign up and I intend to participate actively by making available my knowledge and experience on the subject, I'm a new user but at the same time I'm old in the sense that I have 4 decades of experience in repairing and designing electronics but above all I'm a great passionate about the subject.

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
              by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

              After all of...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
              by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
