A while back I posted a thread about the PSU not working. Well I have a new one of those now, and now I have additional symptoms. There is a transparent grayish bar that goes across the top of the TV, it's about 2" wide. The TV will turn on and stay on now, but first it has to turn off and on a few times. During that time, the screen will be a reddish black for a moment, then go to a very faint blueish black when it displays the "Please wait" message. I unpluged the YSUS and ZSUS boards and the TV wants to turn on-off-on-off-on-off again, so any ideas?

That looks like a bad upper Y-buffer to me, also.Comment

Re: 50HP66 Again!
You can usually get away with just replacing a single problematic buffer in these older LG-based TVs.Comment

Re: 50HP66 Again!
Before you replace it you might try reseating the upper ribbon. The board you are looking for is at the top left corner of the tv if you are looking at it from the rear. Just a word of warning the ribbons are a pain to get in perfectly.Liberating magic smoke one part at a timeComment

by acedogblastThis is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.
There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as... -
by flashmarkHi,
Recently I had to replace main board of my Samsung 3d smart TV due to issue.
After replacing it works fine for several days.
But now it brightness level is almost 50% down. This is not related to settings since I reset the TV (also Energy saving is turn off). Also images and text display in tv is blueish.
What could be the problem?
P.S:
I'm not sure this is affected to the TV.I tried to fix antenna jacket without turning off the TV. I saw when Center core touched metalic-copper shield of coaxial cable, pictures got clearing. I was experimented... -
by toddw65Hey All,
I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.
Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?
Thanks,...5 Photos -
by Mark RMost Displays I have worked with are of course LCD Or Blueish Fluorescent Types. I Have a Marantz PMD800 tuner with sort of a white display. The display area is a sealed rectangular shape in a Glass Case. Looks like some sort L.E.D. display only not your typical section number type. I picked up this Tuner cheap as the display is very Dim. In front of the circuit is a dull red Plastic lens.
The display is very week and hard to see. I've got my DC 5 Volts allover and also a DC 32 Volt that runs some other section. Power supply looks good front to back. Not familiar with this type... -
by ChrissygizmoHi all, ive been asked to repair a jvc lt49c862 , basically when I switch it on it lights up (blueish so it needs backlights replacing) the jvc logo appears then it goes off again but all the while the standby light continues to flash constantly, i tried changing the main board to one from the same model tv but it didn't work at all so I'm guessing that board is broken, I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction...
Thank you in advance6 Photos - Loading...
