Usually on the side of these sets, near the additional video inputs.

Also, in the user menu, check the TV Speaker setting is set to "ON".

I had already checked the speaker setting It was set to off. I had changed it to on. It still got no sound. As for the headphone .I have looked every where I don't see one. The sides of the tv have buttons on one side and RCA on the other side.

OK, on the speaker connectors, can you unplug one speaker and see if you get sound out of one channel (repeat for the other connector.) If you get some sound out with one speaker disconnected, it indicates there is a short in the wire assembly somewhere or the speaker is shorted.

Also, try a factory reset: hold MENU on side button, MENU on remote for 10 seconds. Then select RESET option from menu.

You will need an oscilloscope to do detailed audio circuit tracing to locate where a fault may be.

May have to see if there is an alternate service menu entry option, might be different for US TV.

don't have a outside receiver to test it on. I talked to the guy I got it from he said it had sound before it went dead

I tested the voltage on the PSB

                            3.4v- 2.41v
                            6v-5.98
                            12v-11.96
                            19v- 19.0

The only voltage that didn't look right is the 3.4v it was 2.41v could this be a problem?

Yes, easily. It's a common problem on this model. On the bottom of the PSU you will find an 8pin IC marked IRU3037. Actually two of them. Replace both of these. One does 6V and one does 3.4V. I've only ever seen the 3.4V fail but I wouldn't rule out 6V failure. In addition I'd recommend replacing 3.4V & 6V rail caps as they can fail, unlikely to cause this but a good precaution.

Tom66, I can't find the ic's you are referring to at the bottom of the PSU. I have replaced all the caps except for the 2 470uf caps .I have posted a picture of the PSU

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

                                          - sound and backlight, but no picture
                                          - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                          - it keeps rebooting
                                          - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                          - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                          - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                          - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

                                          Hi Everyone,

I'm working on a Toshiba 37AV500A Regza TV.

                                          The issue:
TV was working picture and sound went out. Green stand by light stayed on, It will respond to the power button being pressed (goes in and out of standby)
The TV will very intermittently work for around 40 mins then stop. This doesn't seem to matter if its hot/cold unplugged for a while etc.

I checked the PSU voltages and everything looked good.
No bulging caps or signs of heat.

                                          24v aud = 24.41v
                                          12v = 11.98v
                                          5v = 5.062
                                          p_o/f = Goes high...

                                          Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

                                          Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                                          Symptom:
                                          No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                                          No sound at all.

                                          What I tried:
                                          1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...
