OK, can you get a picture of the buffer boards and the Y-main?

I give up I 'm just gonna give the customer back this tv and I can't fix it... I'm sorry for wasting your time. I won't ever ask again OK I do'nt wanna disassemble the whole tv just to show you pics of the boards, my camera sucks. I can't make out half of what I take so with that in mind the pictures aren't that functional. If I could take the kind of pics you need to see that would be one thing but like I said the camera sucks

Whoops I stand beside myself, while looking at the many screws needed to be remove I found a bloated cap on the YMAIN/YSUS board ;} go figure. so I'll pull the board and replace the cap and look around @ the circuit it's in... And I'll post up results.

          OK...
For reference, I purchased a high quality Samsung 14MP digital camera capable of close macro shots for £35.00 (approx $50US) from a local second hand shop, if you're looking for a new camera go down there and ask to try them out, bring a laptop motherboard or something down and you'll often find a good compact with good macro capability.

Ok I'll try the camera shopping...

I replaced the bad cap, it was a 100mf 50v, that didn't fix it and made no changes. Maybe just another problem getting ready to go at a later time. So while I had the boards out I took pictures. the cap that was bloated in the lower left corner by the little transformer. the one just above the big blue poly mylar cap.

I did the drag the test lead across the buffer connections to the screen. and on the upper buffer board I found most of the pins leading to the top chip are shorted to ground, I know that this buffer is bad but I thought when a buffer is bad just a part of the screen is gone??? That is what the troubleshooting section of the manual says.

The manual is wrong, a bad buffer can sometimes cause that symptom.
The buffers on these sets are notorious for going bad, and sometimes taking the Y-main with them.
You can try with only the top or bottom buffer and see if the set shows half a picture.

I still think I got YMAIN/YSUS issues as well, I think that STK type chip under that big heat sink got issues they always go out on the LG hybrid boards but those are easy to check, you just start unplugging till the power board stops cycling

If the picture is not flickering, it is rare for the STK IPM to be bad. It looks like you may have at the very least a bad upper buffer, but possibly the lower one is bad too.

                          by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

samsung galaxy ao2s very temperamental after screen replaced
                          by Chrissygizmo
Hi , I've recently replaced the screen in my Samsung galaxy ao2s, at first it wouldn't even turn on, it had the charging symbol on the screen when plugged in but the green circle wasn't going around to show it charging....
Ive eventually managed to get it on and working but it's very temperamental...

The battery icon always reads as 50% , when the phone goes into lock screen mode i sometimes can't get the screen back on unless I plug the charger in to get it to light up, also it keeps putting the camera app on.. u think it could be something to do with the side buttons. ...

Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN Help needed - Static line on screen
                          by Kiberge
                          HI guys!

I've got a Samsung LH82QENELGC/EN with a problem and need some advice and I hope this is the forum to use?
I'm from Norway so I'd like to apology in advance if my description of the fault is kind of simple or the names on the components are way off. 😊

the TV is powering up, working as normally and picture is all good, except a 1.5-inch-wide vertical line of snow/static across the screen.

This TV is a Signage Display/Public Display version and it's been used at my work for 4-5 years showing commercials 24/7. The fault occurred when...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                          by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Samsung UN70NU6900FXZA - Red Light Blinks 2 Times Then Screen Flickers
                          by Samunggg
I've happened upon this TV, it came with no power cord or remote and it seems to be experiencing a common issue where the red indicator light blinks 2 times then the screen flickers as if it's trying to turn on. No picture, no sound. I suspect the functions of the TV are in good order and that the underlying issue is with the power button which is missing. It's just a white tab where the button should be which means I can't cycle it.

I wanted to know if there is anything I can do or if I should just get a replacement module with the hopes it will fix the system. Alternatively if...
