I bought a Vizio E421VA LCD TV in hopes of repairing it, having fixed several LCD and Plasma TVs in the past . I have replaced the main board and the PC board. I have verified that that the power supply is producing 5V, 12V, and 24V. The TV powers on. The Vizio badge on the bottom of the bezel lights up. I get the VIZIO splash screen for a few seconds. The screen then goes blank with the backlight on. I then get two thin vertical lines towards the outer portion of the screen. These lines vary in color, sometimes orange, sometimes purple, and sometimes green. The menu does not appear on the screen when the menu button is pressed. I suspect the LCD may be bad but I am confused because the VIZIO splash screen renders perfectly. Would this happen on a bad LCD? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Vizio E421VA - Blank Screen w/ Two Thin Vert Lines
Could be as simple as the t-con board and you could have also gotten a bad main board. Was there any change in behavior from the original main to the replacement? If the logo is appearing you should be able to get some type of issue on the panel even if it has a defect.

More likely just bad main board as you get correct logo. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Vizio E421VA - Blank Screen w/ Two Thin Vert Lines
According to the seller I bought the main board from, there are two boards for this model and they are not interchangeable. I matched my board with what they had pictured in the listing yet what I got appears to be the other board. I didn't notice the difference until I posted here and looked closer for information gathering purposes. I wanted to be prepared for any questions I might get asked.
