I have a vizio E470VA LCD TV when I got it it was already broken the screen looks ok not cracked when plugged in vizio logo turns white with light when attempting to start the set with remote or surface power button the logo gets brighter but the set does not start just gets stuck there. has any body experienced this with a vizio 47 ? should I start with the power supply or the main board with regard to testing . also vizio vt470m and vizio e470va any compatible parts in common, I have one of those with a cracked screen

purchased mainboard on ebay installed it today still the tv does not start in fact behaves the same as with other board (old one) installed checked voltages at psu output rails and got readings within range or higher on 5v contacts and almost nothing on 24v contacts and 12v contacts also you can see the toslink port on mainboard light up red after a few seconds turned on anyone have experienced these conditions also main ceramic fuse is goodComment

Check the PSON or REMOTE voltage. If it is changing when the set turns on but 12V/24V are low, the PSU is faulty, otherwise, the main board you received is also defective.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents here. I had this same TV a few months ago. There are several different main board / tcon / panel configurations. Make sure the main you are buying has exactly the same numbers on it. It took me 3 tries to get it right. Tried eeprom first and no dice then 2 separate main boards. Lost money on the set but it was a good learning experience. I've been through about 10 Vizio sets and all but one were main board issues.

I saw a post you made yesterday Tom about the Vizio TVs and completely agree. The controls on them are crap. Picture, PS, everything else is top notch. In fact I believe some of the nicest pictures I've seen on both LCD and LED backlit sets have been from Vizio sets.Comment

I just picked one up, same issue, and it looks like the inverter board is bad. No 24 or 12 V, pulled the cable from the inverter board, voltages came back. Found a shorted device, Q5 on the board. Trying to find a replacement.
Anyone have schematics for the inverter board? I'm trying to find information on it. The
device is AK45BP or AK458P. Looks like maybe from fairchild. Nothing on google anywhere.Comment

My phone camera is only so good, so I posted two. One of the whole board and one of the bad transistor Q5. The board is a PPW-EE47NF-0.

Hi all! I've got a Vizio VO42L. Plug it in, and logo flashes orange/white for a bit, then solid orange. Press power, and logo changes to white. There is no backlight.
From reading some of the posts here I thought the inverter could have been the problem, but I've replaced it and still have the same issue. I noted that shining a flashlight on the screen shows nothing, so now I'm thinking main board?
I took the following readings with the TV powered on. I also tried taking the readings with the CFL connectors unplugged - no change.

Ok so here's the story. I was watching tv one day when all of a sudden I heard a pop from the back of the tv set and rushed to unplug the set. By this time the tv already had smoke coming out the back. It was not storming or inclement weather that day to cause a power surge to the best of my abilities. When I opened the tv up, I found that the three capacitors on the psu (highlighted in red) were all bulging and looked they had exploded. I replaced all of them right away and when I went to start up the tv after the "fix" it started just showing the flashing vizio logo as soon as power... -
I just got this tv today and it's getting stuck on the wallpaper. When I first power it on it goes to the V logo, then a black screen for about 15 seconds, then a Chromecast error for just a few seconds, and then finally to a wallpaper. It stays frozen on this wallpaper and does not respond to anything on the remote besides power on/off. Likewise the buttons on the tv do nothing either (besides power). I did the "reset" by holding the volume down and input buttons together for 10 seconds. It showed a message at the top of the screen saying it was Wiping Data and would restart soon. After... -
I have a Vizio D32f-E1 LCD TV that does NOT have a TCON board.
This TV recently went through some 'death throes' and now won't boot. The first problem that began to manifest was while watching tv, the screen would 'freeze', and the image would dim over a few seconds until it was very dark. HOWEVER, the audio of the show would continue as normal. I could power off the TV for 5-20 seconds, power back on, and the video would be normal. This would occur 1-3 times when the TV was first started, and would not happen again after the TV was 'warmed up'. Not ideal, but this glitch was manageable.... -
