Vizio LX37 1080P Saturated Brightness

Hi Guys, first time posting issues here.

I have a Vizio LX37HDTV 1080p and last night the screen just became saturated with brightness.

You can vaguely still see the picture and the menu from the remote. I tried changing anything to see what kind of results and nothing changed as I changed brightness and contrast.

I searched the forum and everyone spoke of a white screen but I can still vaguely still see the picture but very little.

So I wasn't sure if this meant a different path in troubleshooting.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have been in the computer repair industry for sometime so I am familiar with boards and such.

Can you take the back of the TV off and show us pictures of what's inside?
This can be a T-con gamma IC fault, which is easily repaired.

A photo of the problem could help!

I just recently repaired a TV with a bad gamma IC on the TCON. Sometimes the Gamma IC would go bad causing increased white brightness or a negative inverted looking picture. Its the chip on the Tcon board labeled AS15. They go cheap for about less than $5.

Yes it seems it is the T-Conn board (LCD Board).

Anyone have any suggestions on a new board?

I don't have the facilities to replace the Chip.

My board is a a 5537T05C01

Are refurbished almost as good as brand new?

For T-con boards, if the board looks the same and the connectors are the same you can usually get away with having a slightly different model number.

Refurbished probably means pull from smashed TV set, whereas brand new should mean the part is original from the suppliers. However, there is one thing to be careful of for used, pulled boards from smashed sets. There is a chance you can get a dud board, as despite what sellers say, they typically do not test any boards.

Yep it was the T-Con board.

Ordered one from ShopJimmy and it is working fine.
