Tried a firmware update first via USB, that worked but still same issue. Guess Ill have to delve into it..Comment

Sony do usually have INVERTER ERROR feedback -- you may be able to disable this to clear 6 blinks & check for 2 seconds to black, or other fault.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Took a look at it, this looks like the error circuit on the inverter board.. I have 12V VCC, and the pins labeled LD jump from 11.4v down to 0v and back as backlight is flashing before shutting down..

Look at the pad with 'FB' with the DC meter > 2V = bad, should be 0.1V. Watch to see if the meter jumps fast to see it.

Found another connector on the other side of the PS board, that goes to main board.
Has an INV_ERR which stays at 0v, and
a BALANCER_ERR which jumps up to 8V when backlight comes on..Comment

Oh is this the inverter board? That board only has high voltage connection, and then VCC, FB, GND, and LD.

This TV has a balancer board for distributing the high voltage AC, instead of an inverter board which steps up 24V to high voltage for each bulb.
A balancer error would probably be on the balancer board, whereas inverter error would likely be generated by the power supply board (the HV step up.)

Where is CN1004?

If I remember correctly, the Balancer error (FB) is for detecting if each lamp draw too much current. The Inverter error is for detecting the failure of the Inverter circuits which drive the high voltage transformer on the inverter/power supply combo board.

CN6701 is the connector on the PS board that connects to this balancer board. The LD goes low each time back light flashes on (2x). When backlight goes off, it returns to 12v.Comment

So are we thinking it's the inverter board, or possibly a bad bulb?
There's not much to it I checked the all the diodes and resistors all seem OK, I measured each transformer got these results:
T101 - 144.9
T102 - 146.8
T103 - 143.7
T104 - 145.7
T105 - 145.1
T106 - 147.9
T107 - 145.6
T108 - 145.9
T109 - 144.9
T110 - 148.1
T111 - 144.8
T112 - 144.6

I am a hobbyist (not a professional) so please be gentle...
I recently received an XR-77A80J that wouldn't turn on. (Repeating 5 flashes when plugged in.)
I did a hard reset by holding the power button for about 30 seconds until the set powered down. I then tried to turn it on and it powered up, bringing me to the setup screen. There's not a lot of detail on the setup screen but the picture didn't have any distortions, so at least a cursory examination suggests no physical damage to the screen. The set appeared to be working normally, but it shut down after about 15 seconds,... -
Hi.
Power is ok
Tv turns on by it self when you turn IT off with button or pług.it shows sony logo the android logo but with like 1 frame every 10 sec. Music starts after like 1 min. After some time logo will Just hang. But i can turn volume up and down on a pilote but its very slow as well.
Should i force update? If so how?
I did reset.
Mainboard Looks pristine.

I got here a Sony 65X950G - I tried to find any repairs guides for this model but not many online
here is the issue
I have Sony and android logo. but then 4 led red flash lights front of the tv
I have 3.3v ref. 12v reg then T con 12v when I press the power on button
but then I get black screen and 4 red flash light at the front LED
but I get 3 led flash on the LED driver board.
I check that few X900F or C YouTube repairs, seems that if you have 4 led red flash it could be due of LED black light error

I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.
I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.
