On the white side of the board is where i measure the other transformers, I assuming they're the secondary pins.. This transformer is reverse and I when measure those same pins it is very low ohms and with ring tester, no lights so Im thinking winding may be shorted or something..

That current sensing transformer is related to the FB pin, but I believe you are having OLP problem, so remove the board and inspect the fingers and the sockets first. In the service manual for this setup, it has big warning with regarding to how the lamps are put inplace and warning about breaking the lamps if not done properly. I cannot find that training manual yet. There may be SONY training manual for your chassis on Elektrotanya website.

My ringer shows about 10~15 rings for the CT101 on my SENCORE 75 ring tester. About the same on the rest of other transformer as well.

Are you talking about the between same the 2 pins I have marked? Because on CT101 those show no LED's indicating a short but the others show medium 4 LEDs rings on my blue ring tester..

I have a similar model. Does anyone know the procedure to disconnect the high voltage cable? I can unlock it but it doesn't want to come off. I don't want to break it.

I see what you mean, but just pull the tab and wiggle it, it will come loose..

I cut OLP trace going to U1 that carries the 8.4V, backlight does not come on at all but tv still goes on then off with 6 blinks. DET has nothing. I am trying to bypass this error just to see a dark spot from a bulb out.. It seems to need this voltage..

Yes, they are the same test pins on my transformer.
Since we know that the LD signal goes low when the lights go out. Can you disconnect the LD line from the balancer to the power supply board to see what happen?

Yea I will test if that's been done but I think that may have been done by cutting the OLP trace of U1. Well maybe not that was showing 12.4v the same as the DET.

Are schematics available for these balancer boards?

Ok bud disco'd the 2 LD lines from inverter board to PS board... Tv backlight stayed on, seemed normal at first then this is what I got not sure what to make of it...

So on a more "logical" note, I can get a picture and sound without LD connected, but video is not right.. not sure if you can see by picture but it's got that out of contrast/gamma look.. Is this a different issue? Don't see any dark bars on screen I suppose I should find a white source..

Yes, try white screen some how, then turn the backlights level (not brightness) up and down to see if you can see any dark band. It does look like you have other problem also.

Looks like wrong LVDS mode/T-con type.
Perhaps owner put wrong T-con in set?

Here's a pic with the menu on also. It doesn't seem to affect the OSD at all.

Is that streak in the background a type of Sony background?

Also Im going to try to find a white screen on the DVR and see if I can see a bad bulb..

Im wondering if this has anything to do with the firmware update I did before I was able to get a picture. I do not know how it looked before I updated it..
