It stays on 1 unless i can manage to bring the very tip of one probe to the very tip of the other probe,and then it will flash random numbers between 80-180Comment

Ok so I brought the TV to a TV repair shop and they are saying that there is 10 bad resistors on the PSU and that they cant solder on new resistors,they have to replace the whole PSU , for $170.....does this sound like something that would happen with the signs I listed?Is it that hard to solder on new resistors?

Sounds like utter nonsense.
It's not hard at all to replace resistors...

Well needless to say after a bunch of B.S. the repair shop came up with,They said they made a mistake and there was only 2 defaulted resistors( The exact 2 resistors tom mentioned at the beginning of this thread before I even took the TV into repair, Good call tom!) ... I decided I didnt want to do business with them so I told them dont repair it,and they only took $70 instead of $170...
Well I know the parts I need,and that I need to remove the current resistors and solder new ones on.Can anyone give me any guidance on the removing/and soldering of the new parts.First time doing this...if I need to get behind that psu how do i disconnect the cables that prevent you from pulling the panel back very far?Whats the easiest way to remove the current resistors?. here is the pic of the panel and the 2 resistors in question (as posted previously in thread)

I would not give that TV shop any further business if they lie to customers like that, and seriously, it takes less than 5 minutes to replace those...

Soldering iron & fresh solder applied to each end for a few seconds, wiggle the original out slowly, swapping from side to side with the iron (no more fresh solder once the stuff starts to melt well.)Please do not PM me with questions! Hi,
I have lg 50pg25. It has similar problem. Power on for about a couple of seconds to a couple of minutes then shut off. Could this be same problem?
It has three white resistors on the top right corner.

Hmmm..you see those sets of insulated wires going into the psu ?How would you discconnect those so you can take the psu off the TV??
When I unscrew all the bolts holding the psu down,the wires are the only thing preventing me from pullling it all the way off.Comment

So I'm trying to get into micro soldering, repairing tech etc.
I bought a load of equipment, The YIHUA 853D 2-in-1 station, 1080p Microscope with 10", I do not have low-melt or leaded solder yet, I have tried flux 'paste' in a tube, very liquidy seems to blow away, I've tried flux paste in a tub, still no luck.
I have tried 3 different boards, a router, an Xbox One Fat and now a Pi400, none show ANY signs of melting solder, components don't budge.
My method:
Preheat board with hot air (Small nozzle as it's directed, as I'm told) at 250c

Hi,
I was given a laptop with a BIOS locked by a password. I read that one way to unlock it is to read the EEPROM contents, patch them, and write them back. I was using the typical CH341A programmer and clip to do this, but because the clip is so loose, after patching the dump I accidentally placed the clip on the wrong EEPROM and now the laptop won’t boot.
Can I do something to fix it? I’ve attached photos.

Hi,
Anybody has experience repair PSU burned out due to connect to EVGA molex/sata cables. I know the cable is not compatible (i got them mixed up), but I though i can connect it and use a PSU tested to find out which is the wrong sata/molex cables. As soo as I pluged in the powered molex cable to the PSU tester, the power supply short out, and will not turn on anymore. After the incident, the PSUs (both HX1200 and C850) try to power on and shut itself off immediately. The ATX PSU tester survice the short circult, still working perfectly. Anybody know if it's an easy fix or know which parts... -

I have come here with a rather specific question. I was given a Dell Latitude 7420 laptop with a busted screen, and wanted to see if I could refurbish it into my daily driver. I wanted to experiment and see if a 2-in-1 display would work as the chassis of the laptop and 2-in-1 7420 looked identical. I have an Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 (G814JZ) laptop with a Winbond 25Q16JWNIG chip on the motherboard.
Unfortunately, I flashed the wrong file (BIOS/EC/other region – I'm honestly not sure anymore), and now the laptop is completely dead: no display, no fan spin, no reaction at all.
I have a CH341A programmer and I'm able to read and write to the chip. However, I'm not sure which software is best (AsProgrammer, NeoProgrammer, etc.) or if there's anything specific I should watch out for.
A valid BIOS/EC backup...
