will shut down on its own in 25 seconds then blinks then comes back on by itself....then you must unplug it to get it off...seems to have different pattern
everytime...screen seams to go white slowly on its own

Defective panel, tab bonds or T-con. I'm thinking defective panel myself.

I'd be surprised if they caused that, though I have seen graphical glitches caused by bad caps, usually it resolves itself after warming up though.

So it was bad caps? Interesting...

Hold MENU on TV and MENU on remote for 10 seconds, service menu should appear, then select reset option.

I has an Astar tv that would have lines all over when powered up. After trying
several times it would come up and run fine. It was bad caps.

Don't think that works for these LGs.
Maybe only way is through RS232.

I have 2015 MacBook Air A1466 EMC 2925 with 8Gb of RAM. It seams that I've killed it by bad SSD adapter. It starts, cooler works... But no chime, screen is black. SMC reset seams works, NVRAM reset doesnt works...

                              Hello:

On the above laptop which wasn't charging I found only a tiny drop of water damage exactly on a few components by the BQ25713 Charging chip.. Bizarre how only that one 3mm square for it but it did..

I looked up the BQ25713 datasheet and replaced the 10K pull up resistor on the CHRG_OK line and now it charges!

But on the IADPT line which seams to be a resistor (137K) to tell the chip which Inductor is in use it is corroded also.. (Inductance Detection Through IADPT Pin - from datasheet).

So my question is what are the implications of leaving...

                              Hi all,

Wanted to share this as I couldn't find anything on the internet about this problem, so pulled one apart and found the problem myself. Years ago I bought approx 20 or so Crest Smart Home Single Power Adapter smart switches - small 240v Tuya-compatible (rebranded) smart switch devices with power monitoring, which Big W had on sale for half price. Paid $7.50 each for these, and they've been incredibly useful for turning things on and off remotely... and monitoring how much power each device uses.

However, after about 12 months, I had a number of these stop working...

I have both these laptops that appeared to have the same fault so I thought I would have a go at replacing the PCH as something to learn, they both are using the same PCH.

                              I started on the ACER:

Up on connecting power no signs of life but current is consumed from the bench power supply and the PCH is hot.
All the caps on the top of the PCH are showing 0 ohms and the 3.3v rail is shorted.

I followed the videos from Sorin, Electronics Repair School on Youtube heating from the bottom to install. I practised on around 10 scrap...
