Hello,
I have a friends 42in vizio that i wanted to see if i can fix. His house got struck by lightning over the summer last year.
I'm not good at the lingo or very knowledgable at this kinda of stuff but i like to tinker and am pretty handy with a soldering iron, but when it comes to testing with a voltmeter i'm clueless..
Here's the jist of it with the back ripped off and all the boards exposed there are no signs of damage all the caps are flat on the top nothing burnt or melted on any of the boards.
With the back off and tv pluged in only visable thing working is the vizio logo is orange when i hit the power button on the remote it turns white.. if i hit the power button again it goes back to orange etc... that's it nothing else is working.
I'm looking to just replace a whole board i'm thinking the main power board but what do i know, looking for suggestions if you had to gamble with this very little info i provided you..what would you suspect to be the culprit???
Thanks in advance...
