    Vizio vx37l hdtv10a

I have this TV that has had the main board replaced, after the main board was replaced the tv worked well for almost a whole movie, then I started getting green shading on the darker areas of the screen. It was suggested I replace the LVDS Cable, I did that and it had no effect. Then it sat all weekend and now when I turn it on the screen comes up all white, then starts changing colors

    White
    Black
    Red
    Green
    Blue

Repeats until I press the power button Any thoughts are apreciated

      Thanks,
I was going to try that, however I have no control or options, I con't even get to the menu or change the input/channel.

The tv comes on, no logo, and starts cycling colors as indicated above

Have you tried leaving it unplugged for a while?

This all happened about 4 months ago, and I got it out of the way, and I just got it back out. So it has been unplugged for quite some time.

Have you tested all of the voltages coming out of the PSU? Take a close look under that heat sink and see if any caps are bloated.

I have a very similar TV to this and mine had power AND main board problems. I still havent' replaced the main so it remains leaning against the wall

Start by cheking the power supply voltages and the IC regulators on the main board by reding the link below my signature..

                    Re: Vizio vx37l hdtv10a

All the Caps are physically ok on the power supply, also the voltages are:

                    3.19
                    5.27
                    12.22

The regulators seemed to test good,
                    Vin 3.39
                    Vout 1.25
                    both tested to the ground(adj)

I did notice that the power supply makes a noise about every 10-15 seconds. the sound of Electricity flowing, followed 1 second later by a repeat, maybe normal, just food for thought

There must be other regulator voltage values on that board, I.E. 1.8, 3.3, etc. They can't all be 1.25V regulators.

If a regulator is bad, will there just be nothing on the Vout?

It the output can be lower or higher than what it should be, or be 0V. Soen of those regulator may be fixed, or adjustable regulators. You can tell if theya re good or bad if you read the link below my signature. There should always be 1.25v between the Output pin and the Adj pin, please read the link for details.

I tested all that I could find, and still no luck, so I decided to check cables and alas, I got some progress. The T-Con board is an LG, and my guess is that when the T-con does not recieve proper signal it does the screen flash. The LVDS cable was loose/ bad. I fiddled with the connection at the tcon and got a picture, not a good one, but non the less something. Pictures are of the new results. Any ideas what is making the picture so bad?
Also I think the background is suppose to be Green not blue

sorry to resurrect this, but what would cause that type of picture?

Shut down the TV, disconnect the T con board and power on the TV back up and see what the screen look like, if you have a lighted screen then it is possible your t con is bad .

That test proves nothing. Some panels are white when off, others are black. Most modern panels are black.
