well a new tcon board repaired the second 60" set with this issue ive seen.. it wouldnt work until I reseated the tcon ribbon connections at the main board though so I still believe failing connection points in these ribbon cables are what take out the tcon boards.

just to add I did have an intermittent horizonatal line which appears to be from a failing bonding tab. I guess I will be removing them all on one side.
