LG 50PG100R screen white

A friend of mine called and asked what the problem may be.
It's a LG 50PG100R and as soon as it's started up, screen goes completely white.
I want to check with you guys, since I don't have that much experience with LG's. Mostly Samsung's comes through my way for any reason..

I'd treat a fully white screen on a plasma the same as on an LCD, if that matters.

I need to write a guide on the "auto test" features of most control boards which can usually highlight the main board as being at fault.

When disconnecting LVDS cable between mainboard and logic board, screen goes black. So problem lies probably in the mainboard.
