That means we cannot rely on that error code then, need to find out what trip the TV into shutdown (go into standby mode).
But since the main board is not even sending out the T-CON on signal, then more likely to have to look at the main board next, you should be able to turn on the T-con by applying the 3.3v to the T-CON on pin also.

Re: Sony 46EX400 won't turn on, 2 blinks

I have removed the black wire (T-con_on) from the PS connector and I have applied 3.2V to that pin and I have got 12.69V at the T-con 12V pin, but only for those two seconds. Everything still connected except that black wire.
It seems like the main board not sending this voltage. I still don't understand what is causing the shutdown?

At this point I am not sure what I can do to troubleshoot the main board.

It looks like the problem is with the mainboard, no?

I was looking for a mainboard on Ebay and I the person selling one of the boards did not specify the exact model number and I have asked about it while I have explained my problem and this is what he said:
"If you forced the TV to turn on then your power supply should be good, you could have a bad main board or a bad IR sensor (there known to go bad and kill the data line) thus preventing the TV from turning on."
Bottom line is still a bad mainboard, no? Or should I try getting an IR board first or could we try turning on without that board? It's possible?

That is what I think right now that the main board is bad.

Found a main board for $42.50 on Ebay.
Arrived today, replaced it and it works great.
Just in case I have updated the firmware. Cheap nice 2010 TV. $50+ $42.50+ a bit of gas= ~$100.
Thank you Bud. I owe you a couple of beers if we meet somewhere.

That is great news, I am beginning to wonder about these Sony error codes as shown in the service manual.
Thanks for repair feedback, that is pretty good price for main SONY main board. I hope you will get good price selling it.

I think that I will keep this one, since it has 4x HDMI and sell my Samsung 46A550. It's a 2010 model, the Samsung is a 2008 TV.
Initially I have "purchased" another board for $85 and after paying for it, the seller realized that he actually doesn't even have that board. Lucky me.
