Toshiba 42SL738B White left side of screen

left 50% of screen white with a few thin vertical coloured lines at varying distances apart. Right side of screen coloured vertical lines which when playing dvd film move in relation to movement of image on screen. No discernible images of any kind are visible the coloured lines blank out everything inclusive of menu graphics. Sound not affected. You can just about make out normal coloured screen on top mm or 2 of screen but not on the white half.
Not sure whether its a Tcon or main av board problem. Be grateful for any help.

Many thanks for the link. From the way I have described the fault do you believe this to be the most likely cause of fault? The fault does appear to be very much like the sony tv highlighted in video. The only slight difference being a definite cut off point between the white and the coloured vertical lines. The white area is exactly 50% of screen.

Who made the LCD panel in this TV? (There will be a sticker on the metal plate on the back of the display panel.) Tab bond failures are becoming a significant cause of LCD TV failure nowadays.

Lg according to sticker. Also the inverter has a LG part number. Although marked as a LCD tv it very thin more like an LED in that respect. When you take the back panel off the front surround becomes detached too.
Do you know whether LG tvs are prone to Tab bond failures. Appreciate your replies
