I have a E470VA Vizio that about every 16 seconds looks like it winks at you. Picture goes in then out. I have replaced TCon , Main , Power Board someone said could be a bad panel. Is there a way to test inverter to see if it could be problem.

Re: E470VA Flickers
roger, it is dewey the one with the sanyo mainboard. from what i know about these displayswhen they go bad they leave stripes or bars. budm would be the one to ask. he seems to be the resident expert on led/lcd tv's. i have tinkered with and fixed a few and as you well know i have one here in my storage building with a bad main. was the main you replaced new or used? and does it do the same with both boards? if you want to try either main in the one i have you are welcome to do so. would have to be in the morning or on sunday, have to work at 4:00 till midnight. this one lights up dut dosent even render the vizio logo.

ok would like to try panel because seems like backlight never goes out. So i think its panel did you find out if guy would part with panel. I do not want to spend much it is a risk still may not work. May try main in yours see what happens. I tried inverter you gave me still the same. Tv was having problem from start replaced Main and power first refurbished boards im sure but problem was same next we replaced T-con still the same. Then i tried inverter got from you still does same thing.Last edited by rogmiller; 02-14-2013, 09:00 PM.

Re: E470VA Flickers
roger you may have gotten a bad main. i got one once for a hitachi that was supposed to be good but it was bad. i spent more than i got out of it because of the bad main. every board in it was replaced, and the main was first. after a total 360 inside i let it sit for awhile. ran across a junker and when we changed the main it was perfect.have not gotten in touch with tony because he was out of town visiting his parents. wont be back before sometime next week. they live in detroit and i dont have a number for them.

Re: E470VA Flickers
It looks like the T-CON board is getting the voltage that comes and go, and the backlights do stay on and did not go out from what I can tell from looking at the YOUTUBE. You can monitor the voltage at the T-CON fuse to see if it has either 12v or 5v on the fuse when it acts up. The T-CON voltage is fed through a switched transistor which is turn on/off by the main board micro controller, the voltage is turn off when TV is in standby or when TV is powered down.Never stop learning

Re: E470VA Flickers
Some T-CON uses5v to run, some may use 12v to tun, but the bottom is we are looking to see if the voltage comes and goes when it acts up.Never stop learning
