hello all, find myself in need of an upper buffer that no one seems to have. tnpa4188 su of upper buffer board. it fits a th50px75u. heck of a nice tv if i can find the buffer. bottom half has a perfect pic upper half is black with startup glow. must be an open igbt the resistors, caps, diodes check good does not seen to have a fuse on it. anyone happen to have one in the spares box?

Re: looking for panasonic upper buffer
Startup glow on top half could actually indicate a bad D board...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: looking for panasonic upper buffer
tom, any ideas on how to determine without buying both boards? my luck runs bad and whichever one i get i will end up needing the other.
did you get the disc yet been about a week. don't know if it will get caught in customs or not.
i have a 150 meg tektronix scope, never used it much though mostly monitoring ripple in dc power supplys that i build. any input on this panasonic will be appricated greatly. i have a startup glow but no pic can see three distinct black lines in the top part bottom is perfect. i forgot and left the little plastic connector off and started it up and got three colored sections at the top and black lines were gone. these were blocks equally spaced across in a horiz. pattern and went halfway down. the upper buffer chips dont get warm at all the lower ones get warm but not to the point they would burn. that was what the assumption of sd board.Comment

Can't guarantee it's the D board though, do the check I suggested. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: looking for panasonic upper buffer
looking like it may be the sc board i tried the d board and no improvment, the upper buffer was putting out basically what it was sent. some of these are a pain i guess. now i pull the sc and start trying to find the dead bird in the flock.Comment

Re: looking for panasonic upper buffer
I doubt it's the SC. The SC sends the same signals to both boards. Any different signals are routed through the SC to SU/SD from D board. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: looking for panasonic upper buffer
Maybe your filter is not set to worldwide?
All these in UK, this one is cheapest and maybe worth buying 2 or just in case you get sent a bad one. Cheap post as well.

Re: looking for panasonic upper buffer
tw2005, most of the australia places wont ship to the us because of customs and paperwork. every place i have tried here is out. the local ones on ebay are far overpriced. so i will button it up and play the waiting game.Comment

Re: looking for panasonic upper buffer
All those were UK not Aust and ship worldwide as quoted in ebay. First link was the cheapest.Comment

Re: looking for panasonic upper buffer
check the shipper info, when you try to get a quote they will tell you no shipping to usa.i know because i tried the reply was due to customs and holding times there was no shipping to us. guess they think tv parts are security risks.
i finally found one, replaced the upper buffer and bam! the tv came on full screen. just finished the job and picture is beautiful. may be replacing the samsung as i like the non glare screen. side tracked because of the avability of the buffer boards for this tv guess they are high failure.Comment

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπ€?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting π.

by YanlebHi all,
I'm interested in understanding how a buffer board chip is working. I know there's about 90 outputs per chip to the plasma panel, but I'm more interested to know about the input pins. I guess that some of them are address pins, but I want to know more.
So far I've found nothing at all. I haven't found any datasheet about the various buffer chips, and I haven't found any schematic for the buffer board using them (Y Buffer Board in Samsung's terminology).
Any information will make me happy. It can be from any buffer chip or plasma TV manufacturer.... -
by AquaMan UaHello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...2 Photos

by skyvalley99Recently my VT65 has started exhibiting sparking/misfiring pixels, it manifests as sparkling white pixels in the black area if there's brighter pixels in the same horizontal area (e.g. the smart viera boot screen, white credits on a black background).
On inspecting the screen closley you can see pixels misfiring in the upper area of the screen at all time, it just gets lost in normal content.
I've tried (without success) replacing the P/SS/SC board (refurbished boards) and re-calibrating the VSUS (including setting it to HIGH) but none has made a difference.
